Hello all, I would thanks all of you for this wonderful project.

I’ve installed Mountain Lion 10.8 on a GA-Q77m-d2h.

Problem : “Intel high definition audio” detected on System information, but no devices on sound preferences. => No sound

Tried VodooHDA suggested by soarhevn on this post, it works, but sound quality is poor.

Installation based on Tonyxmac guide (Unibeast 5.0.2 + Multibeast at the end. Drivers installed as suggested here)

No need of Multibeast driver for Network, it will work OOB on this motherboard.

Someone has solved the sound problem? I took this motherboard as I think it will work.

Config :

GA-Q77m-d2h
Core i5 3550
16gb Corsair 1600mhz
Radeon 5670
Samsung 830 120gb SSD

thanks for the help!

hello again...

nobody has information about how to solve this issue?

When I bought this board I thought it was fully supported.

Thanks.

Try installing the correct audio driver with multibeast. You will need to do this after updating to 10.8.2 anyway.

>drivers>audio>Realtek ALC8xx>without DSDT>ALC887/888b>v100302 Current

I have this mobo, and have installed the drivers. The sound will go out every once in a while, and today its gone out twice. I understand that after an update I may need to install the driver again, but I've had to re-install the driver a few times with no updates. It will work for sometimes a few seconds then go out. I have to go to the sound settings in Sys Pref. and select a different output, then switch back to the green back port, and it works, only for a few seconds. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a hardware problem. To test, download Ubuntu Live for USB, install it on a USB and boot it. Open some audio file and check operation. If it works just fine in Ubuntu, then the problem is not hardware.
