Apparently (per MultiBeast 5.02 instructions) my USB 3.0 port is not compatible with my 7 Series LGA 1155 as of this release. Will it be eventually?

I've applied MB 5.02 and it solved my sound issue but now it does not even recognize my USB 3.0 card reader attached. Using MB 4.6.1 it recognized the card reader but finder could not find it.

I just checked my motherboard specifications and it says the USB3.0 ports are provided by the NEC UPD720200 Controller. Therefore it should be compatible.

Any direction on this issue will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Not thinking you assumption is correct, Macman put his warning in the feature.txt for a reason...

I believe I'm reading the instructions correctly where is states it Enables USB 3.0 ports for systems using the NEC/Renesas D720200, etc ... controller ONLY. My motherboard is using the NEC D720200 (it does not state Renesas if that makes any difference) so I guess even if I have the right USB 3.0 chip it is nullified buy having the 7 Series LGA 1155 motherboards.

Once again my question is this something that may be worked on and if not is there another method to make it work? If it will be eventually fixed (it worked in Lion) then I would rather wait and just use USB 2.0.

Thanks for the feedback.

I think the CalDigital driver is not for NEC/Renesas USB 3.0 chipset, it is for ASMedia AMS1042

correct me if i am wrong

The instructions state "or" as follows:

Enables USB 3.0 ports for systems using the NEC/Renesas D720200, Etron EJ168, or ASMedia ASM1042/1041 controller ONLY. Not compatible with 7 Series LGA 1155 motherboards. Caldigit official driver edited by mlydinesh. Installs CalDigitFastIO.kext and CalDigitUSBxHCI.kext in /System/Library/Extensions.

I believe the kicker is that you can have the correct controller but if you have a 7 Series LGA 1155 motherboard it does not work. I'm not totally clear but I hoping it all eventually works out.

Thanks again but if you hear anything else let me know ... and any other feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Gigabyte 7 Series with ivy bridge should work OOB (Ga-z77x-UD5H-Ga-z77x-UP5 TH)

With the previous MB it could be found but not used. With MB 5.0 it does not even find it. Read this thread which will describe my problem now.

PXHCD.kext + DP3 should works in Z68.

But 7 series.....I have no idea.
