OS X Mountain Lion and P8Z68 Pro & i7 2600k

Hi all, I just finally got a nice Mountain Lion Fresh Install!!! (Using Unibeast)

Since my Evga 680GTX is natively supported... My only trouble is with multibeast...

I already flashed my Asus Bios with the "3402 modified" for native speedstep, and get rid of the issue of OSX kernel panicking
on Lion 10.7.3 appleintelcpupowermanagement. (Sorry, done that with my past Lion install...)

My question is what setting I must use now with multibeast?
I "Temporarily" boot with the unibeast key (I know, this is lame) but this way, I can wait to see the right setting for my installation!

So, if someone has the same cpu and mobo like me (Asus P8Z68 Pro & i7 2600k) please drop me a line!

Is Mountain Lion natively support Sandy Bridge CPU?

Thanks for the help!

Frederic

Hey

I use a similar mobo as you, the P8Z68 Deluxe, and installation was a charm. Used Unibeast with PCIRootUID=0 at boot, and voila, went straight up. Everything is working except my sound... My mobo has the ALC889 chipset, you have another one so you might be luckier. I´ve been crawling the net for 24 hours now, trying to figure out the sound issues. Hope you´ll be luckier.

PS. I use a modified bios for native speedstep and power management. Download here: Asus Bios Roms

Hey guys,

I have the same board : P8Z68-V Pro with an i7-2600k @ 4.8ghz.

ML installed fine, but I can't get my overclock to work at all.

Under 10.7.4 I get turbo boosted without issue to 4.8ghz (Geekbench 17,500) but on ML I'm stuck at 3.4ghz (Geekbench 11,000).

Are you guys seeing your overclock working?

Thanks

Sean

I just updated using Unibeast....I did not have to follow all the steps required....After installation, my system rebooted into Mountain Lion instantly....I just had to use Multibeast 4.6.1 to install all my drivers again....Currently I have mines overclocked to 4.3 ghz...Bios 3402 modified...Geekbench 14143

Sorry, I got a Liquid Cooling System for my i7-2600k but I don't have overclocked it so far! :)

Can you tell us more about your multibeast setting that you used so far ?
Do you use a Bios 3402 modified with an SSDT ? etc...

If I got it working right, I "WILL" overclock it too ;)

Thanks for the info!

Nice!

I got all the same hardware like you (ASUS P8Z68-V PRO,Bios 3402 modified,Intel Core i7-2600K ,CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB) :)
Except that my graphic card is a 680 GTX

Got the wake/sleep working ?
What do you get in your extra folder ?

Thanks for the help!

Currently in my Extra Folder I have Chameleon Boot plist, smbios, and my theme folder....I tried to put my computer to sleep but one of my components is causing it to wake up...I think it might be my LG BD 12x player...

Hi Guys, nice going with all your setups.

I am running a similar setup and have done a clean ML install, First time OSX, so far i can boot in and am up to the multi beast stage,

Question, where are the modded Bios files ?

I've the same motherboard and processor as you guys, I've just did a fresh install but I couldn't get network and sound/audio to work. Any clue? I've tried to use the drivers found in multibeast, selected the necessary kexts as what I did on Lion but it just doesn't want to work.

Update: got the network working, selected the wrong driver from multibeast.
Update2: got the audio working too now.. Will need to check if spedstep working

Hello everyone. I pray you, guys, give me a hand. I'm desperate.

You may post your org.chamaleon.plist?

I have the Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z and when I start the Mountain Lion, I have a kernel panic of IntelCPUPowerManagment.

I tried to install the modified BIOS, but when I start the Mountain Lion or Lion, freezes without any error, but does not enter the operating system.

I can only start LION with the BIOS 1004. All others bios, or are Still Waiting for a root device, or get stuck in verbose mode.

Could you guide me step by step? Thank you.
