iCloud Mountain Lion Issue Unable to sign in UPDATE

Unable to sign in because of a problem communicating with iCloud. thats the message I get when I try to sign in how do I fix this?

UPDATE:
Ok here is what i did and got it working go to
Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration then delete
COM.APPLE.NETWORK.IDENTIFICATION.PLIST and NETWORKINTERFACE.PLIST
reboot sign in again hope it works for you.

I've been working on this issue since Sun with ML. I was so stoked when I found out about GTX 6xx compatibility and got to upgrade from a perfectly working version of Lion. I have gone through all kinds of steps including doing DSDT re-installs, deleting network configs, deleting network kexts, and network profile in prefs, etc, and everything thread that covered the icloud and app store login device not rec issue in Lion I could read up on. I can't believe after leaving my Lion system dormant more or less since getting the GTX680 months ago and then getting an otherwise successful install easily done, I've been faced with this absolutely basic, yet infuriating issue again. I unfort had already updated my stand alone backup of Lion to ML backup before I found the issue. So now I'm trying to create scratch copy of ML to test it, but now trying to solve old grey screen issue so I can actually test the completely fresh install and find out whats causing it. The mere fact I solved the issue itself in 5 mins with Lion and now it's back in ML is really pissing me off. It just takes so long to go through process of reinstalls etc. Even creating another stable install USB with only the installESD.dmg was a pain since you have to do it manually.

Unable to sign in also. Signed in just fine to itunes store through itunes. Any info/help?

+1, yeah that's really annoying as well. iTunes signs in no issue.

This method doesn't always solve the problem. The problem for me was that I use a natively supported AirPort card on my PC. When I first booted up to ML it didn't detect my onboard ethernet. This caused the AirPort card to get assigned to the BSD name "en0" (see attached pic). You need to have your ethernet card assigned to "en0" to log into iCloud.

The way I resolved this was by installing the kext for my onboard ethernet and finally rebooting the machine without the PCI AirPort card in the computer. Once I did this the ethernet was assigned to "en0" and I was able to sign into iCloud. After that I just turned off the computer and put the PCI AirPort card back in, and all was good.

changed serial number in /Extra/smbios.plist

<key>SMserial</key>
<string>G88451235J4</string>

change 845123 between 750xxx to 905xxx

reboot

I solved mine after finally getting a usb fresh install working and enabling network in that then testing it. It worked immediately. Only diff I could find was strangely graphics enabler I changed to no and my other Chameleon bootloader had a device ID string in it that I could previously delete with out causing the system to fail to boot. I simply copied the newer version Chameleon bootplist over and made doubly certain my DSDT was the Tonymac version by writing over version in with freshly downloaded copy. I rebooted on to my original install and bingo login to app store worked immediately. Geez I wish it wasn't so tedious with damn OSX to retrace your steps to get a fresh install working just to get to bottom of a basic prob like that! This time my back up will always be maintained till I am 110% any new update or version is working perfectly!

Hmm now I did all that and am so pleased to see ML running flawlessly with the GTX 680, I can get back to wondering what it is actually do with this bells and whistles dual booting system lol. Prob go back to finishing Future Soldier on the PC side lol...Knowing me I'll prob get itchy to do a MB update (to Ivy Bridge) and end up back in the same old cycle of getting the new MB to work with OSX, wasting countless hours for the hell of it!

Worked for me. Only had networkinterfaces.plist in the folder but I renamed the extension (just in case) instead of deleting it. After restart, iCloud worked like a champ.

Thanks!
