Restarted my machine now this Mountain lion

Please help, what is this symbol mean, I have mountain lion on and Intel i5.

I I have another portion I was fooling around with Yosemite and that won't load either, get the same icon. I have messed with Yosemite partition in ages so that should be the problem. Can I some how get back into time machine to restore what might have happen. Is it a disk error.

My my wife is sick and I need this machine to set doc appointments and what not.

So scared right now, I have a lot of files that I haven't backed up on.

So it seems to boot chimera fine and I can select to boot in ML or Yoesmite

But After I select either or I get this screen. I have tried -x and still nothing for safe mode.

It seems after chimera there is no activity on the disk. My little HD activity light does nothing so its not loading the OS or doing anything until that crossed out icon comes up.

Boot verbose for troubleshooting.

Is it my FireWire card acting up. Going to take it out

Took out FireWire card now verbose says this

Ok so my bios got messed up so I picked optimized settings and then changed to ahci instead of ide. And it booted right up. What would have changed the bios? I did have some power failures earlier in month.
