Hello

I have a hackintosh on a Gigabyte Z77DS3H motherboard
Everything was going well until the SSD with Mountain Lion disconnect
A message appeared explaining it was installing a older bios (I think)
Since then the HDD with windows doesn't works anymore (windows start then a blue page and reboot)
I was able to install a new windows 7 on another HDD that start correctly (I have to go to boot option via F12 to choose the right HDD)

When I try booting the Mountain Lion SSD The apple appear and then a
sens-interdit-au-d%C3%A9marrage-du-mac.png
appear and it turn, turn…

I made a Unibeast USB key choose the mountain lion disk but the same issue appeared (a bit later)

How can I make my Mountain Lion works back ?? (I would like not to initialize it if possible)
Thanks for your help !

Sounds like you need to set your UEFI/BIOS using optimised defaults and redo any changes like VT-d set to disabled etc. You get a similar message when 1 of the 2 BIOS chips gets corrupted, the second BIOS chip kicks in to work - but this may be on an earlier UEFI/BIOS version if you had previously updated the first one.

The first and second Gigabyte BIOS chips are set at the factory - if you update the UEFI/BIOS then only one is updated. You may want to look at updating the second BIOS chip. Check which BIOS version that is now running and check your board revision before updating the BIOS.

See the stickies in the UEFI/BIOS part of the forum for more:

When you installed Mountain Lion, you probably followed this guide - which will also have UEFI/BIOS recommendations information/links:

Thanks for the answer

How to check the BIOS version actually running ?
My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z77DS3H rev 1.1

I already followed the stickies (the only thing I don't have is the Wake on LAN)

But if it is a BIOS problem is it normal that my SSD Mountain Lion is not booting also on a boot on a USB key Unibeast ?

Sorry I'm a newbie…

Did you have TRIM enabled by disabling the signed kext check? This sign is same as you get if the check gets turned back on from an update. Not sure if it applies to ML & Mavericks or only to Yosemite.

I finally found the reason : it was on IDE and not AHCI…
Now I can boot on my Mountain Lion if I plug the USB Unibeast and then choose Mac
But I don't know how to find again the Booting with the Tonymac logo and then if I press space bar the choice to boot on OS X or Windows 7

What I have to do ?
Use Multibeast for a new post-installation ?
Then do I need to reinstall everything ? (If I just install some options, will it erase the option I didn't check but that were previously installed ?)

I don't know what create this boot menu in Multibeast ?
Or do I need Chimera to do so ?

As you can see I doesn't understand exactly what to do to have the booting option at start-up

HELP !

Check your UEFI/BIOS version - this info is displayed in the UEFI/BIOS.

Unplug the Windows installation and Boot into OS X. Use MultiBeast and install only the Bootloader option to your OSX installation.

Chimera is the Bootloader in MultiBeast - You will find it under the "Bootloader" option.

As you can see I doesn't understand exactly what to do to have the booting option at start-up

HELP !

Remain calm and above all - avoid any temptation to randomly install things that will probably stop your installation from working. Less is more.

Check your UEFI/BIOS version - this info is displayed in the UEFI/BIOS.

Thanks a lot for your help
The UEFI/BIOS is in the setup of the Motherboard seen when I press "delete" on starting the hackintosh ?

Yes. The "Delete" key will allow you in to the UEFI/BIOS when you are booting the computer up.

Sorry I'm a dummy I can't find the UEFI
Here is what I found :

Boot Option
1 -> Generic Storage Device 9451 (don't know what it is)
2 -> P0 ST.... (Windows HD)
3 -> P3 OpticalDVD (DVD Drive)

Boot Mode selection -> UEFI and Legacy

Storage Boot Option Control -> Legacy

Can you help me ?
