1.8.5 Graphic Card problem

Hi there,

I'm trying to get into ML's installer. Every time after "[IOBluetoothHCIController][start] -- completed" the screen turn into blank.
I had to add "IOPCIFamily.kext" to get through the "[PCI Configuration Begin]" problem.
I've tried GraphicsEnabler=Yes and No with no results and also switched the graphic card with nVidia 8800GT from my old MacPro3,1: same result.

How can I overcome it?

PS: my kernel flags are simply "-v -f cpus=1"

Try the new 10.8.5 installer. Maybe that has better support.

Thank you for the answer. I reached the installer with the 10.8.0 version  but when I boot into ML... no ethernet .
Sadly i have a really slow internet connection so I'm downloading 10.8.5 combo update.
I will try to update soon to see if it can solve the missing Ethernet and Video Card support.

PS: I tried also hank's AppleIntelE1000e with no results..

EDIT: Ethernet fixed thanks to AppleIGB.kext.

Ok, updated to 10.8.5!
Now i'm stuck at booting into ML.
GeForce 8800GT everything goes right until the screen turn into blank with both GraphicsEnabler Yes or No.
If I put my GTX770 i'm getting stuck at [PCI Configuration Begin].
Tried -x, npci=0x2000,
npci=0x3000, PCIRoot=0, GraphicsEnabler=Yes, GraphicsEnabler=No.. nothing happens, still [PCI Configuration Begin].
EDIT: Solved adding AppleACPIPlatform.kext

Now stuck on "Still waiting for root device"
:(

When I updated to 10.8.5 I had to reinstall FakeSMC in Multibeast in safe mode or it wouldn't boot. Once I did that everything worked.

I can't find anyone else that has this model motherboard. Could you tell me what works and what doesn't work on it? Any issues? Did you use a DSDT? Thanks!

Trying to get into 1.8.5

I can't boot neither in safe mode.. and I dont' use any DSDT. I updated FakeSMC via Windows (luckily I still can get into it) but still waiting for root device. I tried many things like add AHCI_3rdParty_SATA kext and other.. still the same.

I notice during the initialization that these errors come out:
Failed to load kext com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort
Failed to load kext com.apple.driver.AppleUSBXHCI

please help, I'm losing my mind..

PS: I just bought this MB, if I can get into ML I will let you know what works or not..

If AppleAHCIPort is not loading, you're not going to be able to boot. It is the core driver for utilizing SATA ports.

It seems likely the rollback of various kexts has bit you. You might take a look here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/291822-1085-out/page-5#entry1946007

Thank you very much, replacing AppleAHCIPort.kext, AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext now I've done a little step forward. I had to replace AppleSMC and FakeSMC too.. and now i'm stuck here..

I have no idea how to fix it..

PS: my boot options are "-v -f -x cpus=1"

I'm a little confused. Is this a clean install you're doing or was it an update from an earlier version of Mountain Lion to 10.8.4 and 10.8.5?

It's an update 1.8.0 -> 1.8.5!
I managed to get the installer only with the 1.8.0 (and GeForce 8800GT from my MacPro), then I did the combo 10.8.5 update and switched back my GTX770!
As I have already said.. here I have really slow internet connection and the combo update is lighter.
I can try a clean 1.8.5 install in few hours (4 or 5) if you recommend it.. I'm waiting for it to finish the download from AppStore.
