I find Dell pc to be very hackintosh friendly -- my last machine was GX620 running SL.

Before I bought my 7010 USFF, I didn't see many working with this machine. There are 2 posts in the forum, but both use EasyBeast, which basically keeps the machine running at full speed all the time. I finally made my mind to get a refurbished unit off Dell outlet for less than $400 (too cheap to pass) -- very cute yet powerful machine, smaller than most ITX cases I have seen -- it's even smaller than the
Apex MI-008!! And it comes with 3-yr next business day warranty
:)

My specs:
-- i5-3475s (very hard to find, the only low power desktop i5 that comes with HD4000)
-- Intel Q77 chipset
-- Realtek 269 audio (have to use VoodooHDA) -- google Easy Voodoo 2.8.0 audio installer
-- Dell 1530 wifi -- have to replace with DW1515, works oob
-- 8GB DDR2
-- 500GB Seagate hybrid hard drive -- need to fix boot0 error, ymmv
-- 16x DVD-RW
-- VGA and 2 D-ports

Everything works 100%:
-- Speedstep (8 p-state achieved)
-- Full sleep/power management (auto sleep, sleep button, single strike wake)
-- HD 4000 graphics, including graphic power management -- see this thread (http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...e-ivy-bridge-cpu-gpu-power-management-45.html)
-- Ethernet
-- wifi
-- Audio (including audio over HDMI)

How to install:
1. create Unibeast USB;
2. disable all VT related items in Bios
3. install ML 10.8 with Unibeast;
4. Install MultiBeast
1) UserDSDT
2) FakeSMC
3) AppleIntelE1000e
4) Patched AICPM -- I tried to patch the bios. however, dell did a great job preventing it from happening...
5) Chimera
6) SysDef: MacMini6,1 -- need to fix SMBios later coz MB generated machine id is wrong
7) auto generated org.chameleon.Boot.plist may contain errors, need to fix
5. Fix Boot0 error -- if you need it, google it
6. Upgrade to 10.8.3 with combo update
1) before reboot, install patched AICPM again with MB -- AICPM didn't upgrade from 10.8 to 10.8.3
2) use ssdtPRGen to generate p-states and ssdt.aml
3) Add HD4000 Vendor and Device ID to AGPM.kext
4) Install VoodooHDA 2.8.0 or 2.8.2, for HDMI audio, change Audio Midi Setup
5) Add "darkwake=8" (note: it's 8, not 0!!!) to org.chameleon.Boot.plist

Note on HDMI audio: play with frequency and bit width in Audio Midi setup. At the beginning, I almost gave up. Then I found perfect combinations that worked on all 3 of my TVs.

Hope this helps!

Did you get sound at all, through speaker, line-out, or HDMI? I found HDMI audio to be the most difficult. But speaker and line-out worked OOB for me. Also, did you use the installer that I suggested? The installer by default installs AppleHDA disabler. If you don't do so, ML will probably load AppleHDA instead -- you can check with kextstat. You can also use 2.8.2 installer from OSX86 -- it also works perfectly.

I've had no luck with the audio either through the built in options or from the card. I installed using the installer you recommended first with 2.8.2 and then with 2.8.

When I go into the sound preferences, it doesn't recognize an output device at all. I will keep trying.

Btw, what does this step do for the install. I didn't do it and my computer seems to be running fine.

"2) use ssdtPRGen to generate p-states and ssdt.aml"

thanks for your post.

That's very strange. Can you type kextstat in your terminal and see which kext is loaded for audio. Search for HDA in the output screen. You should see either AppleHDA or VoodooHDA.

I used ssdt generator to make my own ssdt.aml to enable speedstep. You can also use generate P & C states in Chimera -- it works just fine -- remember to add Dropssdt=false if use Chimera option.

Okay so it's fixed now.

When I first typed "kextstat" in terminal, I had nothing, no VoodooHDA or AppleHDA kext. So I went back to multi beast and installed the the VoodooHDA 2.7.3 kext and now everything is working. Also lists VoodooHDA as a kext.

Thanks for your help. This is an awesome hackintosh machine.

anyone gotten the VGA port working? thats the only thing bugging me atm.
Got a displayport screen and a vga at work :(

I got a displayport to VGA and now it works flawlessly :)

Only my front USB not working... not had time to check either :)

I was never able to get the VGA port to work. I read in other places that mountain lion would not support the VGA output.

As far as the front panel ports, they seem to be working fine for me without any modification.
