I find Dell pc to be very hackintosh friendly -- my last machine was GX620 running SL.
Before I bought my 7010 USFF, I didn't see many working with this machine. There are 2 posts in the forum, but both use EasyBeast, which basically keeps the machine running at full speed all the time. I finally made my mind to get a refurbished unit off Dell outlet for less than $400 (too cheap to pass) -- very cute yet powerful machine, smaller than most ITX cases I have seen -- it's even smaller than the
My specs:
-- i5-3475s (very hard to find, the only low power desktop i5 that comes with HD4000)
-- Intel Q77 chipset
-- Realtek 269 audio (have to use VoodooHDA) -- google Easy Voodoo 2.8.0 audio installer
-- Dell 1530 wifi -- have to replace with DW1515, works oob
-- 8GB DDR2
-- 500GB Seagate hybrid hard drive -- need to fix boot0 error, ymmv
-- 16x DVD-RW
-- VGA and 2 D-ports
Everything works 100%:
-- Speedstep (8 p-state achieved)
-- Full sleep/power management (auto sleep, sleep button, single strike wake)
-- HD 4000 graphics, including graphic power management -- see this thread (http://www.tonymacx86.com/mountain-...e-ivy-bridge-cpu-gpu-power-management-45.html)
-- Ethernet
-- wifi
-- Audio (including audio over HDMI)
How to install:
1. create Unibeast USB;
2. disable all VT related items in Bios
3. install ML 10.8 with Unibeast;
4. Install MultiBeast
1) UserDSDT
2) FakeSMC
3) AppleIntelE1000e
4) Patched AICPM -- I tried to patch the bios. however, dell did a great job preventing it from happening...
5) Chimera
6) SysDef: MacMini6,1 -- need to fix SMBios later coz MB generated machine id is wrong
7) auto generated org.chameleon.Boot.plist may contain errors, need to fix
5. Fix Boot0 error -- if you need it, google it
6. Upgrade to 10.8.3 with combo update
1) before reboot, install patched AICPM again with MB -- AICPM didn't upgrade from 10.8 to 10.8.3
2) use ssdtPRGen to generate p-states and ssdt.aml
3) Add HD4000 Vendor and Device ID to AGPM.kext
4) Install VoodooHDA 2.8.0 or 2.8.2, for HDMI audio, change Audio Midi Setup
5) Add "darkwake=8" (note: it's 8, not 0!!!) to org.chameleon.Boot.plist
Note on HDMI audio: play with frequency and bit width in Audio Midi setup. At the beginning, I almost gave up. Then I found perfect combinations that worked on all 3 of my TVs.
Hope this helps!
