[Beastly Success] Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H - 100% - NODSDT

This board is a personal system so I planned as much time as needed to build and install. As a result I was pleased to see everything move seamlessly from step to step not having to back up or work around anything unforeseen.

My new 'mini' Mac Pro consists of the following:
GA-B75M-D3H (Rev 1.0 - F6)
Xeon E3-1230v2
16gb (4x2gb) Corsair 1600 XMP
Corsair Force 3 120gb SSD
XFX GTX285
3x 500gb WD Black

All hardware identified and supported as designed. Every function of OSX supported without coding or hacking beyond normal audio, lan, and chipset kext.
NO DSDT FILE, 100% functionality with Shutdown, Restart, Sleep, Wake, iCloud, AppStore, Update, all hardware identified through System Information, and stellar performance through SATA3 and USB3. Wake from sleep is instant.

{GUIDE}

Purchase Mountain Lion from AppStore (10.8.1)

Download UniBeast (ML-1.5.3)
Download MultiBeast (ML-5.0.2)
Download KextBeast
Create UniBeast per guide - http://www.tonymacx86.com/61-unibeast-install-os-x-mountain-lion-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html
Make new folder on UniBeast stick called (Post_Install) - Copy MultiBeast, KextBeast, AHCISeries7Injector.kext to folder

Shutdown computer and install new hardware - power on

BIOS settings:
Load UEFI Defaults - Reboot
Enter BIOS again
Select AHCI SATA (there are a few other tweaks you can make, but that is all that is needed)
Reboot and insert UniBeast

At Gigabyte splash screen press F12
Select UniBeast - At loader screen type PCIRootUID=0 press Enter
At install screen open Disk Utility and select drive - 1-Partition - GUID - Mac OS Extended - Label
Apply partitioning and exit Disk Utility
Select drive and install ML
Reboot

Press F12 and select UniBeast
At UniBeast loader screen select your ML installation disk - Type PCIRootUID=0 press Enter
Finish install and registration

At desktop prepare disk for boot and kexts as follows.

Open Post_Install folder and drag all contents to desktop
Open MultiBeast:
Select UserDSDT or DSDT-Free
Audio - Select Realtek x887 (without DSDT version, Current)
Network - Select Realtek Gigabyte Ethernet 2.0.6 for 10.7
Disk - Select IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector (So drives show internal - *should also have swappable function - not tested*)
Click Continue and confirm install for MultiBeast
Reboot to new ML install disk

At desktop apply AHCI Injector as follows:

Open KextBeast:
Select install drive and confirm (injecting AppleAHCIInjector on desktop so ports are seen as Intel7)
Reboot

Once back at the desktop adjust personal OS settings as desired and your done!
100% CustoMac

Side note: The Gigabyte bios appears to be communicating with the graphics card (which by default runs the fan from ~60% to 100%) and when it is not necessary for the fan to be running at ~60% the bios turns it down to less than audible (not sure the actual rpm.)

I have same MB but i3-2125 Processor. Mostly works great, BUT can't get it to proper sleep mode. Monitor goes white, no sleep. Any ideas please? Thanks!

I just built a GA-B75M-D3H based Desktop and I am experiencing the same white screen when I put the machine to sleep. It appears sleep works perfectly with the exception of the monitor itself not going to sleep. Has anyone else encountered this problem? And any ideas how to fix it?

My setup is the GA-B75M-D3H (F11 Bios) - i3-3225 CPU - ADATA 60GB SSD 6G - WD 250GB HDD - 2x4GB Kingston Hyper-X - Using intergrated Graphics HD4000 - ML 10.8.2

I've got the same motherboard, i5-3570k cpu, 8 gb ram, intel graphics, 1 TB hard drive and I can't get past installing multibeast and the boot0 error. I've got a second drive set up for windows, the machine works great in windows and ubuntu, but no luck with OS X yet.

I replicated what you did in your guide on a seperate, new, 1 TB hd. Where I'm guessing the problem might be is that my motherboard is newer than yours (Bios rev F11, released in August, 2012) and I'm installing 10.8.2, and multibeast is a newer version as well. So I'm not sure if something in there has things messed up.

I can install 10.8.2 fine on the new, 1 tb hd, I can boot to it from the USB drive, I can finish the installation and copy all the stuff to the desktop and run multibeast. In multibeast, I select the options you said, DSDT free, there's one for audio that's a bit different than yours (it says ALC8x which matches my chipset, ALC887), but it has the lan setting and the drive setting.

But when I restart the system after that, I get boot0 errors.

thelostswede put out a guide for bios settings for Gigabit series 7 motherboards, but even with those I keep getting the boot0 error.

Any thoughts on what it might be?

I've not built my hackintosh yet - just slowly buying the parts and will be building in december - but I HAVE been doing a lot of reading. The Boot0 error seems pretty common on Newer drives. Google the model number of your drive and find out how many bytes per sector it has - it'll be either 512 or 4k. If it's a 4k drive, then there's a bit of tinkering you need to do.

Look here for the fix http://www.tonymacx86.com/25-boot0-error-official-guide.html Should be pretty simple. also make sure you you have your sata set as AHCI in the BIOS

If it's a 512b drive, then you have other problems that someone more experienced might help you with.

partition the 1TB drive to just under 1TB. chameleon has troubles with drives 1TB and up. once you have installed successfully use disk utility to expand the drive. should work.

also I'm 90% sure all that is taken care of by the card its self and not by talking to the mobo.

I have nearly the same board, Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H (but rev. 1.1, F7), i7-3770, 8 GB 1600 MHz Kingston-RAM, HD4000 with sound over HDMI-cable, Seagate 1,5 TB S-ATA. What I realized that I got a boot problem when I upgraded from ML 10.8 (everything was fine) to 10.8.2 (boot crash). In the bios I had to put VT-d to disabled, had done this also 10.8.2 worked fine.There are a lot of possibilities to have a boot crash, so I wrote down my bios configuration.
The only problem that I have is, when I choose "Apple-symbol - sleep" then the pc crashes, but when I just wait for the pc going by itself to sleep-mode, then I can wake up the system without any problems. I used a prepared dsdt.aml file from another user and of course multi beast 5.2.1. Further more a patch for USB 3.0, my external hard disk transfers now with a maximum speed of 100 MB/s. 3 days work, but worth to do.
Be aware of the bios configuration, that is in my opinion the main reason for boot crashes.

perhaps I can help you a little bit, because it is now my 4th installation (but now successful) of ML 10.8.2 on GA-B75M-D3H (ver. 1.1), Bios F12, and so I have some (little) experience:
- the first thing I can tell you, you have to be very disciplined while installing, I had a bad error too, and I managed today to fix that, but only by writing an installation diary - it clears up your mind too
- BIOS, interesting settings:
Intel virtualization technology: disabled
VT-d: disabled (10.8.2-update crashes when enabled)
EHCI hand off: enabled
XHCI hand off: enabled
Legacy USB: Auto
SATA set to AHCI
- USB stick made with Unibeast Lion v.1.5.2 (not Mountain Lion !), three partitions, one with Lion, one with Mountain Lion, one free for further products ...
- Multibeast v.5.2.1 Mountain Lion version
- my mouse and keyboard are wireless (Microsoft 3000), attached to an USB-Hub (8 ports), connected to an USB 2.0-port of the motherboard
- Installation ML 10.8 with Unibeast by USB-stick, Multibeast without dsdt, 1080-entry for org.chameleon.Boot.plist to have not distorted screen, when using HD4000-graphics port - that was all for the first moment. (Multibeast destroyed my oob-working Ethernet port).
- then I changed energy options not to touch my hard disk and my password
- Combo-Update 10.8.2 (installation by file, not directly online from the internet), again Multibeast without dsdt.aml file and Lnx-RTL 81xx driver, everything works fine with the exception of audio, try to avoid installing drivers you don´t need

10.02.2013--------START OF CORRECTION ----- the Lnx-RTL 81xx driver creates problems in waking up my USB-ports after being in sleep-mode, so changed it to the normal RTL-81xx driver of Multibeast v.5.2.1 --- END OF CORRECTION ---- eveything seems to be fine now

- HDMI-audio: generated a new dsdt.aml file with DSDT editor with the patches needed - if you need one (Bios Version F7 and F12 are available) please send me an email.
- at the end installation of HWMonitor with FAKESMC plugins for hardware temperature monitoring (see Multibeast).
- software installation for scanner and all the other products needed
- after that everything worked fine (see Correction please), and my error was to install a patched AppleUSBXHCI.kext, after that my system needed about 40 sec. to shutdown and reboot - the processes couldn´t be terminated immediately. Little thing, but big error and needed a fourth installation to figure it out.

I read the installation procedure from Moarfish here in the board before starting my installation - that was very helpful.

Problems with usb-mouse and keyboard I never had.
