Hi people! In the last two days I tried to get things done on my Vaio Duo 13 and I think I'm at a good point already.

Code:
[b]Hardware Configuration:[/b]
[color=green]CPU: Intel i5-4200u (Haswell)[/color]
[color=green]IGFX: Intel HD Graphics 4400 1024MB (got QE/CI working thanks to Clover injection)[/color]
[color=green]RAM: 4GB soldered[/color]
[color=green]HDD: PCI SAMSUNG 128GB SSD[/color]
[color=red]WiFi: Intel BRCsomething with chipset BCM43241[/color]
[color=red]3G Module: HUAWEI Mobile Broadband (PID: 0x1570 VID: 0x12d1)[/color]
[color=red]GPS Module: Could not find any information[/color]

Screen: 13" 1920x1080 Touch + Pen

As of now, this is what we have:
Code:
[b][color=green]WORKING[/color][/b]
Keyboard
IGFX (QE/CI both laptop and HDMI at full resolution)
Audio Output and Input(Yep! Mic works!)
Audio Fn Keys
ACPI Temperatures monitor
Sleep (Can't be sure about wake while booting from USB)
USB Ports (Only 2.0 though)

[b][color=red]NOT WORKING[/color][/b]
Touchpad(USB external mouse works)
HDMI Audio
GPS
WiFi
3G
Bluetooth
Battery indicator
Brightness settings(Brightness is fixed on 100%)
Other Fn Keys
Touch & Pen
Tablet mode screen rotation(Just to say...)
At first I had to disable everything in the BIOS and the fast boot in Windows 8 as well.

Installation and system boot only if I start the pc by pressing ASSIST button and then select boot from USB, can't understand why but if you start as you normally would it hangs on clover.

I made the installer usb with unibeast + Clover. This BIOS is a little messy bastard and does boot only on UEFI, but by the way it was a relief because AFAIK Clover is the only method to get HD 4400 fully working with QE/CI and HDMI output too.

In Clover you have to set fot UEFI64

Following a user's advice(can't find the link, sorry) I then copied a patched for aswell copy of mach_kernel in unibeast usb root over the original one and copied patched FakeSMC.kext and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext into {EFIofUnibeastVolume}/Clover/kexts/10.9

I installed 10.9 on a previously HFS+ GPT partitioned 64GB USB 3.0 Key just to test it until it's usable (this could be the cause of some issues, like the About My Mac that logs me out without even showing up and the boot issue as of above.

Once installed I ran multibeast and installed DSTD Free standard configuration + ACPI Sensors FakeMSC + HWMonitor + VooDoo for audio(For this last one I installed the V286 with kext wizard to be honest). Unchecked Chimera as I can't boot in legacy mode. Then installed Clover and Clover Configurator app. (I don't care about initial settings I set, because HD 4400 didn't work with those. See the end of the post for attachments about Clover)

I then extracted DSDT and SSDTs following RehabMan's guide and after patching my system with RehabMan's laptop DSTD Patches() including DSDT.aml in Clover config(and folder).

Still no need to patch mach_kernel for haswell until now, the system works just fine.

Back in mac I patched the DSTD with
  • Fix PARSEOP_STORE/MMTB
  • Rename GFX0 to IGPU
  • Maybe one or two more...by the way I'll try to install again from A to Z in the next days and double check.

Take a look at attached files to see Clover settings, VoodooHDA prefpanel settings(had to reduce mic volume) and get patched DSDT(pay attention, don't use the extracted one to boot!)

Link to threads followed, sites with tools and or simply used for inspiration:
I'm trying to get them back from browsers history...

[highlight]UPDATE 07/27/2014[/highlight]
Well...it seems that wake actually works, but it has to pass trough Clover again.

I was going to PM you this- but only greeted by the "you must have 75 posts" screen..

Code:
Hey phaberest-

Just a quick question with regards to your thread on the Sony VAIO Duo; as I own the VAIO Pro with similar configurations I'd like to ask if you've had any progress on your end?

More specifically the graphics - you mentioned how you can test ig-platform-id's via CLOVER menu without touching the plist but I have yet to find that option. I've been searching for a few hours and have not found anything that would let me to use ig-platform-id from the menu. Thanks in advanced.

AFAIK, the ability to set ig-platform-id from the Clover boot menu does not exist.

Have you checked the first link on the list? @juanchif has the same laptop as yours.

By the way I added screenshots of my Clover Configurator settings in the bigger zip attached to the first post ;) (you will find the IDs in the first post of the chinese website mentioned above)

You can force the id in the options of Clover directly from its menu after booting up ;)

PS: With the last version of Clover the HD4400 should work out of the box just by injecting IGFX in ACPI->New Way ( FIX_INTELGFX ) in Clover Configurator

In Clover Configurator it's under Graphics settings, I don't know if it's just aesthetical and the FIX_INTELGFX did the dirty job, by the way...it actually worked :D

The question I responded to had nothing to do with the Clover Configurator.

My svd1321l2eb run yosemite 10.10.3 very.....very well.......it's very fast and stable:thumbup:

i have used clover efi so when i turn on my sony vaio duo i can chose osx or win whitout usb:headbang:

Work perfectly.....the graphics card(hdmi full hd resolution....original apple Brightness)......sensor....keyboard with led illumination:p.....usb 3 and sd card....icloud....imessage...appstore.....i have a perfect macbook pro:clap:

i used for mouse wifi and bluetooth a usb doongle with usb hub.

not work touch screen.....touch padand pen......nfc gps.......sim umts....wifi bluethoot....battery indicator and sleep/aweke.

work also the audio system....audio indicator..hdmi audio ...mute.....headphone......but the mic work not well.

the gps is integreted with the umts pcie card(also nfc???) and the model is Huawei MU736

the wifi and bluetooth are a combo card broadcom bcm43241

the touch pad is sinaptics (
uses the i2c HID interface)

i think that the touch screen is a N-trig(now microsoft....like surface pro 3)...
uses the i2c HID interface for its touch and pen device

i have installated also android x86 4.2 and all function perfectly also gps....sim....audio....touchpad.....touch screen...eccc
so i have on my sony a google map navigator and all system is perfect and fast(also with ubuntu)

so i think that if the sony vaio run under linux os is possible create kext for touch screen...touch pad and the other device.

for touch screen, look at ioreg and system information / usb
you shoul see the controller, if not, you need the good usb driver or mux patch on dsdt.

you should use touch like a mouse.

normally, you can see it. mine is Atmel maXtouch digitizer 0x8411.
then, go to touche-base.com, download touch driver for mac corresponding to your digitizer.

this driver add function, left/right click, others, but is free only in demo.
for fully app and gesture driver (multi-touch, invoke keyboard), you have to buy it (100€).

About Pen,
maybe the same.
see in system information, you should see it.
mine is wacom.
installed wacom drvier, modded config file, and works perfectly.

_____

i was there about the Wwan card (3g modem).
(it's the last thing who not works on my samsung ativ XE700T1C)

have you tried to make it work ?

here works i've done:

it have the same wwan card: 3G Module: HUAWEI Mobile Broadband (PID: 0x1570 VID: 0x12d1)
vendor = 0x12d1 = 4817
product = 0x1570 = 5488

I have patched apple and huawai drivers, and installed a custom kext (pl2303 who is a usb to serial driver), but no luck.
here what i have patched:
IOSerialFamily.kext/Plugins/AppleWWANSupport.kext/Contents/info.plist
IOSerialFamily.kext/Plugins/AppleWWANSupport1.kext/Contents/info.plist
CellPhoneHelper.kext/Contents/info.plist
IOUSBFamily.kext/Plugins/AppleUSBMergeNub.kext/Contents/info.plist
osx-pl2303.kext/Contents/info.plist
HuawaiDataCardDriver_10_9.kext/Contents/info.plist

i should have an Modem interface in network preference, but it doesn't see the interface.
i can see huawai driver in kextstat

patching:
HuawaiDataCardDriver_10_9.kext/Plugins/HuaweiDataCardJUBusDriver.kext/Contents/info.plist
no more huawai driver loaded.
(driver from mobile partner app from huawai)

a bit upset to not understand how to match driver with the wwan card.

installing drivers give me some files:

/Library/Receipts/HWportDetect_driver.pkg
/Library/Receipts/MobileConnectDriver.pkg
/Library/StartupItems/HWPortDetect
/Library/StartupItems/HWNetMgr
/Library/Modem Scripts/HUAWEI Mobile Connect – 3G Modem

/System/Library/Extensions/HuaweiDataCardDriver.ke xt
/System/Library/Extensions/USBExpressCardCan tWake_ Huawei.kext
/System/Library/Modem Scripts/HUAWEI Mobile Connect – 3G Modem
/System/Library/Modem Scripts/HUAWEI Mobile.ccl

Huawei 3G modem working !!

please someone to test ?

download the zip. ==> https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-sUmdgLOBgBT1MtVjJFSndoSUE/view?usp=sharing
extract.
install mobile partner
(this one may need java 6 to work, but we just want drivers, not the full app)
java here: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=fr_FR
if you just want to install usefull package from mobile partner, do
mobile partner / show package content
go to Contents/Ressources/MobilePartner.mpkg / show package content
go to Contents/Packages and install
MobileConnectDriver.pkg

Install modded Driver PL2303.kext with easykext utility (kext must be in S/L/E)

go to network preference, you should see HUAWEI MOBILE
if not, click add bouton.

working for you ?
