Hi,
I have a Lenovo G580 2189 i5 and installed Mavericks. Everything works, except for sleep when lid closes. When I set manually sleep mode, pc goes in sleep mode and I can wake it from sleeping by clicking on power button. This way works. But if I close lid, pc stay wake. Monitor goes off, but system is awake.

I tried to set

sudo pmset -a lidwake 1
but nothing...

Any help?

Of the same machine, I have a fully working 10.8.4 installation on a external hdd (lid and sleep is ok). Do you think is it possibile to copy some configuration file (dsdt, kext or other) from 10.8.4 to 10.9.2?

ps: I tried to install again a clean 10.8.4, but I have the same issue and I don't know how I fixed the problem time ago.... The last chance is to use the old working 10.8.4. What file can I copy?

Thanks

It is hard to know. It is best to take better notes...

[SOLVED] Sleep works but not when lid closes on Lenovo G580

Hi,
I fixed the problem replacing AppleACPIPlatform.kext with the attached one (for users who have the same problem).
Probably the one which comes with the default installation is not compatible with G580

Maybe RehabMan can give some explanation

Bye

Very old version of AppleACPIPlatform.kext, probably from Snow Leopard (I'm not sure which version). Not a good idea to run that kext with Mavericks (will disable Ivy power management and perhaps cause other problems).
