Hello good folk of TonymacX86!

My first rig built yesterday:

Define R4 Case

i7-4790k
Asus Z97-C Mobo
16Gb ( 2x8 ) Kingston HyperX Fury ( tried with one stick aswell )
Cooler Master G550m PSU
Segate Barracuda 1TB Windows drive ( disconnected )
Crucial MX100 256 GB

I followed Tony's guide for asus z97-a and did all this:

I've updated the bios, loaded defaults, set the Boot > Secure Mode > Other OS
The AHCI aswell. I have NO other graphics card than the iGPU HD 4600, waiting for the GTX 8xx series. Disabled onboard Lan.

After boot I do get the loader, type the -v -x, after the typical wall of text the screen goes black, no HDMI signal.

Tried with -v -x DSDT=null the same

Tried with -v -x Maxmem=8192 same, and with DSDT=null same
Tried with -v -x
GraphicsEnabler=Yes IGPEnabler=Yes still no luck
Tried with -v -x GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes maxmem 4096 same thing.

In my opinion it's the HD 4600 not recieving singnal after the verbose ends.

I cannot even get to install the OS, please help me :/

Using the latest Unibeast with Mavericks 10.9.4 app store download.

P.S I did manage to get to install OSX once, but an unknown error occured during the setup and it told me to reboot, all of the described problems ever since.

Oh if this has anything to do with it i did the USB install stick on my mid 2012 Macbook Pro

EDIT: The most succesful bootflag combo which gets me to the installer but signal is lost and i cannot see it is

-v -x maxmem=4096 Graphicenabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes

Otherwise i get to see something like that:

Ok I've managed to borrow a GTX 780 from a friend of mine and installed the OSX MAvericks 10.9.4
got the Boot0 error even with ssd, but I've fixed that, Installed the azul fix and whatever was needed for integrated HD 4600 support. Restarted the system like 5 times to see if anything will pop, nothing. 5 restarts-5 clean launches, no issues.

Sooo I took the GTX780 out and still getting the black screen and signal lost.

Running the definitions for iMac 14.2, tried Mac Pro 3.1 aswell, same thing.

Mavericks 10.9.4 Asus Z97-C HD 4600 Black screen, no hdmi signal

Anyone? :<

Ok I was able to finally boot into OSX with these

-x -v GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes IGPlatformID=04160002

The Graphic Card is properly recognized as Intel HD 4600 yet the only available rsolution is 1024x768

Will continue to experiment and update this thread.

Ah yes the ethernet is not working with:

AppleIntelE1000e v3.1.0

No audio as well neither from front panel or the back.

I'd really apreciate some help from the experienced users, as this is my first hackintosh and is giving me a lot of trouble :/

That's because you're in safe mode (-x)
Many things are not fully functional in safe mode.

Good Luck

Oh.. I understand, so I'm probaly stuck with a non functional OS until i get the Dedicated Graphics Card.
Yet it strucks me how "efortless" it was for Tony with his Asus Z97-A install, it's esentially a very similiar board.

EDIT: Installed the 1080p mode and it works, ethernet works aswell! the thing I've changed was installing the Mac Pro 5.1 !

That's something! a fresh breath of some optimistic air :headbang:
P.S Audio still dead

Then I guess either the Devil's Canyon i-7 4790k ormy mobo is less compatibile, however i did manage to see "unidentified processor" during verbose, so it may be the "k" afterall.

I can only boot to safemode with that IGPlatformID, i've applied that HD 4600 fix and it does not help.

You do not appear to state in any of your postings that you've tried with IGPEnabler=No.

Anyway, if you've run MultiBeast several times, I gather you may have accrued some crud that could affect your current installation.

If the only option you see is to walk away, you may want to try the steps I outlined above on a fresh install first ...

Intel HD 4600 never worked OK for me; When I disabled it on the BIOS and added a GTX 660OC everything worked pretty nice (something you already know). Now, what you can try is to force the BIOS to use the iGPU and set it's shared memory to 64M or 512M.

My hardware is different (Z97M-PLUS and i5-4670). I dont buy overclock hardware and I dont use overclock as memory erros are pretty much more frequent. Without overclock I have my system like 2 months until the first error appears, with overclock I might get 4 errors a day. Please not that this errors are most times something the user doesn't 'see', I did had a small hack in the linux kernel creating dumps, thats how I know it happened.

Another thing is, try: cpus=1 maxmem=4096 -v -x

Eventually: UseKernelCache=No

See if that pops anything different. Also, I did hacked the UEFI BIOS from Asus to unlock MSR 0x2c. I don't recommend this process (I used UBU).
