Hi there, I just built my first Hackintosh with a Gigabyte G97X-Gaming 7 board.

I can't get it to boot to the latest Mavericks without using -x (safe mode). I'm wondering if it's because the board is so new? The ethernet doesn't work either (the signal is fine)- it's the Killer e2200...

It gets stuck at the screen below (see attached).

Thanks for any help!

Hi have you figured out how to boot this yet? I have identical problem on my setup?

Hi guys. I have mine up and running so far with "GraphicsEnabler=No"

Add it to the boot flag string in chameleons plist

If you have a lot of ram and all four installed: You might also need maxmem=4096 and -x to to get back into osx and install multibeast. Once installed, you do not need it.

the error message says your CPU model is unknown. look for latest BIOS drivers on GA's website, and be sure to turn off VT-D in your BIOS settings, when using a K-CPU. a little bit of reading the text thats given would help aaaaa lot. ;)

greets

Hi guys, I've re-installed Mavericks three times- each time utilizing different suggestions in the countless threads I've read, to no avail.

"Reading the text thats given would help aaaa lot." Really? What texts have I been given? I've probably spent over 10 hours reading text, looking for help, here. Maybe you could point me and the other people who have this same problem in the direction of the texts?

And why would a motherboard that's been out for a matter of weeks need a new bios driver? I never would have guessed that. Why wouldn't it recognize one of the most common CPUs on the market? And how is it booting to Maverics if it doesn't recognize the CPU??

turbodsms- I've tried using all of those flags plus -x to get to the Mavericks desktop, but I am trying to get the build to boot without any flags (and not in safe mode).

Alright, thanks smi, I'll try your suggestions and post my results.

TimDogg, hang in there, we'll figure this out!

Boot with -x and delete your audio drivers apperently you have the wrong ones installed and when booting in safe mode audio is disabled and that's why it will boot in safe mode and not boot normally

So journey to the root of the drive and open System/Library/Extensions and delete AppleHDA.kext and any HDAEnabler.kext or HDAEnabler1.kext if present then download kext wizard and on the maintenance tab repair permissions and rebuild kext cache on s/l/e and reboot with fingers crossed using -v GraphicsEnabler=No and maybe dart=0

You won't have sound if this works until you get the right one installed but will at least be able to boot normally and worst case scenario it doesn't work but the audio will be ruled out

u didnt understand me right. i meant the given text on your screenshot screen ;)

OK, I'm trying to not get too excited here- I've managed to get it up (ha!) and running without any flags!

Here's what I did:

I downloaded the F5 version of BIOS for my Gigabyte board (from their website) and updated it via Q-Flash in BIOS. Here are the instructions: http://www.tonymacx86.com/bios-uefi/131047-how-update-your-gigabyte-motherboards-bios.html

I don't think that was what did it, though (still had to reboot with -x after the install).

Then, once I got to the Mavericks desktop (in safe mode), I "open(ed) System/Library/Extensions and delete(d) AppleHDA.kext" (thanks carpentryplus25!!) and restarted. And it worked.

That's crazy.

What should I do now that I'm running in regular mode??? The ethernet port isn't recognizing any internet connection (and I know the connection is working). Any ideas?

I also need to get the screen resolution higher (to the 2560x1600 possible on my ASUS) by installing my ASUS GTX 760 GPU. I'll tell you how that goes...

OK, it did not like the GTX 760, but after reading some other posts, it seems that you have to check "GraphicsEnabler=Yes" on Multibeast!

I had been reading the opposite everywhere else...

Still can't get online. Anyone have a fix for this? My board has a Atheros Killer E2200 ethernet connection, and I've checked "Atheros/Killer AKXEthernet v1.0.2" box, but it's still not lighting up the connection lights or showing up as an option under "Networks"...

Thanks again!!!

I understood the given screen shot perfectly

This is what fixed your problem be sure you repair permissions and rebuild kext cache for easy quick start up.

You may need to add some device IDs and vendor IDs to your info plist inside the kext needed to load the NIC I suggest you download a app called DPCIManager to get the device ids and vendor ids of your NIC and audio chipset this app will also give you suggestions as to what kext are needed and what is needed to be changed if you find out what kext are needed to run the NIC and the proper appleHDA right click on them and hit show package contents open contents folder and if it has a plugins folder open it and the proper NIC kext should be in there right click it or control click depending one the mouse you have and show package contents open contents folder again and then open the info plist with text edit. You should see a line that says some thing like IOPCIClassmatch or IOPCIDeviceID look to see if your device ids and vendor ids are present if not then thats your problem also do a search on here and google for the appropriate kext some one may have already injected the proper ids in the info plist for you if you find one install by placing it in the kext location
IONetworkingFamily.kext/contents/plugins/YOURSPECIFICKEXT.kext goes here then rebuild kext cache and pair permissions with kext wizard or dpcimanager it would be better if you can find the right IONetworkingFamily though
Good Luck
Your welcome
