First build.

After assembling hardware according to guides (only connected boot SSD for Mac OS X),
and after verifying all the BIOS settings I could find recommended, I made many attempts to install 10.9.2 with Unibeast 3.0.1, each ending in a kernel panic.

Short answer: -x maxmem=4096 was the only boot flag needed on this rig.

Long list of failed attempts included GraphicsEnabled yes and no, PCIRootUID 0 and 1 npci 0x3000 and 0x2000 in about 12 combinations.

Hardware:
Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H out of the box BIOS rev F7
i7 4770k
GeForce NVidia GTX770 graphics card (connected)
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD
32 GB Crucial Ballistic Sport (8x4)

BIOS settings: turned off XHCI, and turned off Intel Virtualization (VT-d wasn't editable on my BIOS UI)

I have the z87 D3HP with the same GFX card and I get a preboot panic when I try to start unibeast

Have you managed to find a solution yet?

Mike, thanks for the tip. For anyone installing Snow Leopard with a modern card (760, 770, later) they should probably follow the tips in the link.

I was installing Mavericks 10.9.2 clean (not Snow Leopard) so it wasn't the graphics card that needed tweaking. It was the 32 GB of RAM I had installed. I used maxmem=4096 as the only boot flag, and I was able to install 10.9.2 using Unibeast 3.0.1 without trouble.

Bijan, I read your thread. It sounds like you got your situation sorted with the bios setting you mentioned.

In my original post, I tried to highlight what worked for me (eventually) - using the maxmem=4096 boot flag got me through the initial 10.9.2 install. I was able to reboot and then use MultiBeast without problems.
