Hi Guys.

I'm now kind of helpless, even though I got Mavericks up and running on 2 Laptops before, this is my first Desktop, and it seems that my MB just doesn't want to listen to me, or what I do. I still have to boot in SafeMode with -x.

Here's my System:

  • AsRock Z77 Pro 3
  • 16 GB Corsair LP 1866Mhz
  • Intel Core i5-3570K
  • EVGA 550TI Superclocked (2GB, shows 3GB)
  • Samsung 840 120GB

I have Patched my BIOS to unlock to MSRs and have tried to get basics like sound, the Ethernet Symbol in the StatusBar (even though I have Internet, it doesn't show the Icon).

Here is what I did so far:
  • Easy Beast with:
    • 3rd Party SATA
    • ElliottForceLegacyRTC
    • EvOreboot
    • FakeSMC
    • NullCPUPowerManagement
    • Mac Pro 3,1
    • Realtek ALC892 (without DSDT)
    • Realtek RLT81xx L2nx
  • MaciASL patched with PJalms Driver
  • Chameleon Wizard applied the DSDT.aml (saved with MACIASL, after patching with PJalms)

There's still no sound, no Ethernet Symbol, no 1080p Bootmode.

Do you guys have any help ?

My specs..
Core i5 3570k
Asrock Z77 Pro3 (#TeamAsrock ^.^)
GTX 660 SC
8GB of ram
SMBIOS- iMac 14,2

Now that we got that out of the way, I've got Mavericks running buttery smooth on my rig, I just updated to 10.9.1, it's all good , try booting in just verbose mode and see where it stops. For some reason when I was running ML and (I think) Mavericks 10.9.0, I had to delete some of Intel's HD crap in System/Library/Extensions and I was able to finally boot.

I had an EVGA GTX 550ti card and had many problems with it. With a little research you'll find that the 550ti not only requires a Fermi patch, but has a habit of freezing the screen (everything except the mouse is frozen). After trying a few of the suggested fixes without success, I opted for a different Card.

In your case, you could try removing (just unplugging power does not work) the Card from the MB and using the MB/CPU HD4000. If that gets you started without the -x flag, you have solved one problem.

Thanks a lot you two,

I have changed my Graphics Card to a ATI HD5770 (had it lying around) and I have some better, much better results. Now I need some help from somebody who has the exact same board as I do, I just don't get it up and running, this board is driving me crazy.

It would be very kind if somebody could talk me through the installation of the board step by step, it looks like I can't do it myself.

Thanks very much.

When I finished installing Mavericks, I think everything almost everything worked out of the box. I needed the sound driver (ALC892), EasyBeast, RealtekRTL81xx v0.0.90, USB 3.0, 3rd Party SATA. I think that's all I needed. You should try a fresh reinstall and try booting in verbose mode.

By any chance, have you tried booting from the integrated HD4000 graphics with the graphics card removed?

Hi,
thanks for your answer. I really haven't tried yet, but I did install Windows (after doing 34 fresh installs, and failing every time).

I will try tomrrow (9GMT), If you can further assist me. Does the 4000HD work right out of the Box ?

Thanks.

Furthermore, I would rather need help installing the PJalms repos ? I managed to install get past the MultiBeast installation, but whats next ? What about the Powermanagememt and whatsmbios.plist are you using ?

How do you install the patched DSDT (via PJALM wwith MaciASL) ??? ←thats the one Im stuck on.

Thanks.

Back in the Mountain Lion days, I used a DSDT, but once I clean installed to Mavericks, I didn't install a DSDT.. Simply because I was too lazy to do the whole process  but even without the DSDT, everything still works fine, even sleep mode. The only power management I have is NullCPUPowerManagement, but EasyBeast installs it for you anyways. My SMbios is the iMac 14,2. I believe the HD4000 works out of box with Mavericks also, I've never tried it since I never needed too but it should work.

These Multibeast settings should be close to what I have right now (I never saved my settings lol)
