My system will not sleep or auto sleep since upgrading to Mavericks. When I go to pmset -g assertions I am getting a 1 next to a few categories is Active.

I also cannot wake the system once it goes into partial sleep. Monitor sleeps, but light and fan still on. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Similar sleep issue. Worked perfect in Mountain Lion (well except for ejecting USB disks) Only monitor goes to sleep. Computer stays active. Super annoying since the computer lives in my bedroom.

Although i can wake machine from sleep sometimes.

Any fix?

Did anyone find a solution for this? I'm experiencing the exact same thing. Sleep works fine on my windows drive so I'm pretty sure it's not a BIOS issue.

here is the output of the pmset -g assertions command:

I'm having the same issue on an Asus P6T Deluxe V2 mobo. Worked fine on 10.9 Mavericks and now failing on 10.9.1. Monitor shuts down, but cpu/fan/lights still on and wont wake up.

sleep/wake is working again on 10.9.2!!!

I just 'noticed' this problem, sleep not working on 10.9.2. I did the update, thought it was working, went on vacation for a week and now the system will not sleep.

This is what I get:

I have a second Z68 Hachintosh that doesn't exhibit the problem at all with Mavericks 10.9.2. This Z77X-UP5 with 650Ti graphics does have the problem.

If anyone has heard of a solution would love to see a posting.

Ping. Ping

Still can't find a solution to Hachintosh not sleeping. When I attempt to force sleep, the display turns off, but I have to reset the machine which appears to be still running, to get the OS back.

I have a MacBook Pro, and the pmset -g assertions on it shows:

UserIsActive named: "com.apple.iohideventsystem.queue.tickle" Timeout will fire in 594 secs Action=TimeoutActionRelease

but it goes to sleep with no problem.

Anyone any ideas?

For me sleep on my Hackintosh is working for the first time ever. That is after updating to OS X 10.9.2. Before that if I let the system sleep it would lock up forcing a reset or forced shutdown. Now with 10.9.2 everything works great very happy with it so far.

The problem for me is that my Hachintosh does NOT go asleep. It doesn't go asleep from the Apple Menue -> sleep manual command. It shuts off the display and just hangs. Only a HW reset gets the OS to return.

I tried booting in Safe mode, -x on the Chmiera command line. In safe mode the system sleeps and wakes correctly.

What is the next step to identify which kext is causing the problem? How do you suggest I debug from here on?

Funny that in Safe mode the pmset -g assertions command returns the same status as above, but the system sleeps. So debugging with pmset has not led me to a solution. Quite the reverse, it seems like a distraction.
