OK, So I have read all the threads about the GA-X79-UP4 and the necessary boot flags to get the installation done.

Here is what I am using:
GA-X79-UP4 Rev 1.1 F7 Bios Optimized Defaults
The latest 10.9.3 image from the Mac Store
UniBeast 3.0.1
MultiBeast - Mavericks 6.3.1

I built my USB stick and was able to get to the install screen just using "npci=0x2000 cpus=1"
I completed the install, then rebooted with the USB still inserted but this time booted off of Mavericks
I used the same "npci=0x2000 cpus=1" boot options,

My problem is with MultiBeast - Mavericks 6.3.1

I have tried a basic DSDT Free install and after I reboot I and select "Mavericks" as my boot drive and still add ""npci=0x2000 cpus=1" I her a kernel panic, If I try it with no flags same thing. So now I can't boot into Mavericks, even off the USB.

So I am stuck.

Besides doing a basic DSDT Free install what else do I need to add? All the early threads I have read on the GA-X79-UP4 are all using an earlier version of MultiBeast and not installing from 10.9.3

Thanks

Hey Kuau,

Did you ever resolve this issue?

I have the same hardware, except for the GeForce GTX 760 rather than the 640 and I keep running into a kernel panic at the same spot. I tried uploading Snow Leopard and upgrading from there, then I tried the recommended unibeast install. Same issue.

I also tried turning off all but one CPU in the bios and using the bootflags -v npci=0x3000 cpus=1 -f, and what I get is:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0x255f81d): "Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@/usr/local/src/snu-1504.15.3/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp: 1385

It also says BSD process name corresponding to current thread: Unknown

Mac OS version:
Not yet set

Any thoughts?

Not sure,
I finally got my system up and running.
What I would do is start from scratch.
Reset the Bios to Optimized defaults F7
( all I changed was the memory profile because of the faster ram I am using)
Make a new Boot USB using the latest Unibeast and OSX 10.9.4

Boot with "npci=0x2000 cpus=1" thats all I needed for it to boot.

Then after the install reboot again with "npci=0x2000 cpus=1" and make sure to modify the "org.chameleon.Boot.plist" file in the Extras Folder and have a line:
<string>npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1</string>

Then you have to run Multibeast.

This is where it get goofy.
I know you have to a "DSDT Free"
Then add under Customize Sandy Bridge l7

Then reboot and keep your fingers crossed

Thanks for the help, but I still couldn't get to the installer. That freaking kernel panic has me going into conniptions. I tried the different boot flags, I tried booting in safe mode, I tried recreating the unibeast boot stick, nothing. I think I'm gonna try to post to the forum at large, unless you have any ideas.

I do have a couple questions about your process, though. Did you install snow leopard first, then download the update to 10.6.8 then download mavericks to upgrade from the app store? If so, was your machine super laggy throughout the whole process? I think I might have issues because snow leopard wasn't built to handle a xeon processor, but I have the lingering fear that even if I do someday get this thing updated to mavericks, it'll still run slowly. I believe it's the interaction with snow leopard because there's no lag before I enter the os.
