This was originally built just to be a windows 8 gaming PC, but after MANY hours and hours of trying to install OS X Mavericks on my system, I finally have everything working as it should! Hopefully this guide should help others with similar hardware, so they don't have to spend nearly as much time tinkering with things as I did.

First, I followed the iBoot Haswell + Multibeast guide to install Snow Leopard. During the iBoot screen where I chose to launch the Mac OS X DVD, I first typed in a mix/match of the following commands, if it failed I tried a different mix, I think I also tried them all at one point but I couldn't tell if it was that or another change that fixed it: PCIRootUID=1 -x graphicsenabler=no maxmem=4096

Second, once Snow Leopard was installed I ran MultiBeast as directed by the above guide, and got everything working.

Next, I followed the UniBeast install guide for Mavericks. I had to use the same commands shown above during the install to get it working. This part was relatively easy.

After Mavericks was installed I was able to put the Asus GTX 760 back in just fine as well as the other stick of RAM, just make sure (of course) that the computer is turned off and unplugged and be very careful, ground yourself so that static doesn't ruin any electronics.

NOTE! Make sure that when installing .kext files, you don't just drag them in to (your HDD)>System>Library>Extensions> folder, use KextBeast from the downloads page to install them. Place the .kext file on to the desktop and run KextBeast, then reboot.

Then the real problems began. First, I couldn't use ethernet. The final .kext file that fixed it is the Realtek8xxx.kext driver attached.

And then the worst problem of all, audio. After spending many many many hours trying to get it to work, I finally removed ALL of the multi beast HDA kexts for the ALC892 controller and I also removed AppleHDA.kext. The two ALC892.kext files that finally fixed it are also attached. And now everything is up and running perfectly!

Case: 1 NZXT Tempest 210
Motherboard: - Asus Z87-A
Power Supply: - Corsair TX650
Processor: - Intel i7-4670K LGA1150
Storage: - Samsung 840 PRO Series SATA3 128GB - Hitachi 500GB 7200rpm SATA 3
GPU: - Nvidia GTX 760
RAM: - 2x Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz
- No wireless, mainly use ethernet.
Disk Drive: - I actually used an external disk drive for the iBoot haswell disk and it worked perfectly well as long as I used BOTH the 2x USB plugs it required. It would not work if I only used one of the USB plugs. This was a USB CD/DVD usb drive that let you manually eject, which is required for this process.

Hey I'm looking at doing this since I pretty much have all the same components as yours. Will any version of snow leopard work? And what did you change in your bios?

I believe the disk I used had 10.6.8 SL.

I cannot remember specific changes that I made to the BIOS but I did make a few. I will look for it later today when I am done with work and I will get back to you.

It is an absolutely fantastic machine for programming, mainly I have been doing iOS development on it. Fast as lightning.

Thank you because I want to make sure I have everything perfect before I actually really start because I want this to be headache free haha

Sorry for the late response! It has been such a busy week!

It definitely won't be headache free but with my guide it shouldn't be painful.

I have looked through my BIOS settings and here are the settings. I took notes and wrote down the ones I had to change, but I have not been able to find that notebook, so here are the ones I remember adjusting, when you go in to the BIOS go in to Advanced Mode:

In the Advanced page of the BIOS:
CPU Configuration:
• Intel Virtualization Technology: Disabled
• Limit CPUID Maximum: Disabled
• Boot Performance Mode: Max Non-Turbo Performance
• Dynamic Storage Accelerator: Disabled
PCH Configuration:
• Intel Rapid Start Technology: Disabled
• Intel Smart Connect Technology: Disabled
USB Configuration:
• Legacy USB Support: Enabled

In the Boot page of the BIOS:
Fast Boot: Disabled
Hardware Fast Boot: Disabled
Inside of the Compatibility Support Module CSM Section:
Boot Device Control: UEFI and Legacy OPROM
Boot From Storage Devices: Legacy OPROM
Inside of the Secure Boot section:
OS Mode: Other OS

If you have any issues while you are doing this, feel more than welcome to ask and I will be happy to help. If you have further problems with the BIOS I will go ahead and take screenshots of all the settings pages cause there is a lot more here, but I think I've covered everything that's relevant. It's actually pretty easy. It was a bit of a nightmare when I was doing it because for the life of me I could not find the correct .kext extensions, but I have attached those in the first post on this thread for you to use once you have OS X configured and booting on it.

Since I wrote the main post, I added a stick of RAM and added a Samsung 850 Pro SSD (and am now using the old SSD as a secondary disk in the machine). It works flawlessly now I am glad that I did it, I have three monitors on it and I've been learning how to make apps on it, it's taken me very far I've made over 25 apps (most for iOS, a few for OS X) of my own creation on it thus far.

Best of luck! Let me know if you need anything.

okay! so...i got snow leopard installed on my computer and everything BUT i can not reboot it and have it go to the bootloader... it automatically goes to the bios. I am thinking it is the multibeast settings. Which ones did you use?:)

Personally, I have to turn on my computer, then using F8 I have to select the USB drive with iBoot on it, then select the Macintosh SSD. I have not yet found a way to get it to turn on directly in to OS X. If you find one please let me know :)

Lol I just started doing that. I got snow leopard installed and my problem now is Ethernet. I installed the realtek one but when I reboot and open up system preferences then click network it just says built-in serial port. Did you get Ethernet to work on snow leopard or no?:)

Did you have an ethernet connection when you were on snow leopard or did you just go to mavericks without snow leopard's internet? And when you did the unibeast were you able to get the usb to show up from the iboot cd?
