My Mac

Install instructions: (it installed just like oem "Vanilla")
Use This Unibeast guide to create usb key for mavericks
http://www.tonymacx86.com/374-unibeast-install-os-x-mavericks-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html

Most Important prepare bios with the bios settings first or else your install will not boot (Do this first) scroll down for settings and view images

-Enable AHCI
-Disable Intel Virtualization Technology
-Disable VT-D(if your cpu supports it) Not all do if you dont have it dont worry about it

-Simply create a usb boot key with mavericks and reboot PC push f12 and boot (I did not need any boot flags due to compatible hardware)
-Install Mavericks OSX on your HD
-Boot Mavericks which you installed via the bootable USB Sitck with Mavericks on it
-Use following multibeast settings below (Basically only needed audio + bootloader + sys definitions) rest worked out of the box
Note: I used these system definitions because I wanted the newest definitions plus did not use hdmi audio out for hdmi use my hdmi settings for Multibeast and the bootplist and SSDT.aml files located below in the attachments

Note for Reference: (GraphicsEnabler=No (if you own a natively supported GPU like the Nvidia GeForce GT 640/650 etc..)

Bootplist

Hdmi Audio: For onboard Hdmi audio (Huge thanks to toleda for making it happen) also thanks to victorian for helping me
Firstly Before doing this please Note the following:
-Hdmi audio cannot be controlled from the hakintosh (You use ur TV + Remote)
-when AppleHDA.kext is removed you cant use your aux port meaning if you have portable speakers they wont work
-My Setup is dual montior +USB speakers 1 LCD 1 TV I switch between hdmi for TV and usb for computer when i dont want to use TV audio

firstly make sure to install the smbios for mac mini 5'1 as it has hdmi capability look at the following pic I have also included a hdmi multibeast setting file below

Step1-Remove this file located in System/Library/Extention (AppleHDA.kext) this will remove the driver / kext for aux audio port
Step2-Go to MAC HD (Root of the drive) /Extra folder and place the SSDT.aml file there
Use these steps if they apply to you
1. If Extra/SSDT.aml is present, install SSDT-1.aml as is: Extra/SSDT-1.aml
2. If no Extra/SSDT.aml, rename SSDT-1.aml to SSDT.aml and install as: Extra/SSDT.aml
3. The 1st SSDT is SSDT, 2nd is SSDT-1, 3rd is SSDT-2, etc.; no gaps
Step3-Enable the SSDT
To Enable SSDT enter the following lines in org.chameleon.Boot.plist also located in the Extra folder
<key>DropSSDT</key>
<string>Yes</string
Ive also included my Boot.plist file below in the attachments
Step4- Rebuild kernel cache You can do this using kext utility in attachments simply run it and put password it will do the rest
Step5- Restart MAC
Step6- TEST Hdmi

Mac mini definitions required to detect intel hd4000 for hdmi/ dual monitor to work

My Experience with onboard intel hd 4000
I tried it for a few days hdmi audio worked great. However I would get broken artifacts everynow and then hence why i added a graphics card and never faced these issues again. Here is a sample of what I had experienced

UEFI bios settings

First Set to optimized Defaults
-Enable HD AHCI (Peripherals / SATA Mode Selection - AHCI)
-if your cpu supports VT-d, disable it (BIOS Features / VT-d - Disabled) or add kernel flag dart=0
Save and Exit

Note: if you use vmware or parallels to run windows / virtual machines you will want to Enable Virtualization Technology its generally disabled
BIOS Features / Intel Virtualization Technology - Disabled or add kernel flag dart=0

If you have trouble reaching the installer, type -x at the Boot screen as shown below. You can type the boot flagsGraphicsEnabler=Yes, PCIRootUID=1, PCIRootUID=0, and npci=0x3000 by themselves or together in order to solve boot issues for older graphics cards and machines. Type -v to bypass the Apple boot screen and enter verbose startup mode.

Bios Images

First of all reset to default settings

Note: These are pictures that I found on the net so dont worry about the other settings just do the ones i marked in red rest can all be defaulted

AHCI

Intel Virtualization(needs to be enabled for vmware Fussion/ parallels)

VT-D(if your cpu supports it) Not all do if you dont have it dont worry about it

My Case

GeekBench Results

MY Multibeast settings are in the attachment below. :D
Also i have included my bios ver 1.3 board u1b modded by me has slic 2.1 table (that means you can install any oem win7 and it will auto activate

Hi elite2k,

I have exctly the same setup you have. Mavericks installed and all working. The problem is that sometimes, when going to sleep, the computer freezes. It happens once every 10 times. For instance,if I do the following:

1 - I put the computer to sleep.
2 - I wake up the computer,
3 - Repeat from step one

I cannot do it more than 10/15 times. Sometimes it hangs the first time, sometimes the 10, but most of the times it hangs at 7th / 8th cycle.

This only hapens in Mavericks, in ML I can repeat this 40 times without problem. Also I'm not new at the Hackintosh Comunity, I have done several test, boot with clover, chameleon, chimera, tried several system definitions. Always the same result.

Searching other forums I have seen that there are people with z68 chipsets and sleep problem that says first that they have a sleep problem, then they say that suddenly the problem dissapeared, and the next week the problem is back again. All of these without doing anything.

I'm starting to think there is a problem with mavericks and (at least) z68 motherboards.

Would you be so kind to make the test and share the results? Thanks in advance!

Regards

Sleep and wake-up work great on my Zorro and Son-of-Zorro systems (Z68X-UD3H) in Mavericks. What boxes do you have checked in Energy Saver (System Preferences) pane?

Hi Stork,

Thanks for pointing this, I owe you a beer!!. I have spent many hours trying to solve this, but I didn't check Energy Saver options (I assumed they were the same that in my ML install) After checking I noticed in ML install "Wake for network access" was checked and in Mavericks was unchecked. "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible" was checked in both cases.

So I did the test and checked "Wake for network access" and the I did 40 cycles of suspend and wake without problem. I unchecked this settings and in the 8th cycle the computer froze. Conclusion, "Wake for network access" should be checked, at least for my system. ¿Do you have this settings like me?

I'm so happy with this problem solved. I was thinking to buy a new motherboard and CPU just to solve this, although I'm very happy with the performance of my Hack.

Thanks again to this community, and specially to Stork!!

does your front audio plug switch automatically? ie you plug in headphones then the speakers are disabled, and vice versa.

I have to sleep to switch to headphones.

Hi,

Yes, if I plug headphones they play sound and the speakers sound mute and unpluging the headphones works OK too. I'm using a custom patched DSDT and Multibeast ALC889 patched AppleHDA.kext.

Regards

Hey Sorry for the late reply, Ive been busy with lots of shifts during christmas holidays Plus I go to university.

Your Issue:

this problem of sleep, and wake freezing, I had sleep issues once and that was only with 10.8.2 and i used a sleepenabler kext at that time back then.. but i reformatted and reloaded mac osx, and since 10.8.3 I never had issues

here are things I would do to see if it helps,
- firstly as stork said look in the settings -->energy saver settings. set it all to default
- secondly id do default settings in the bios and (re do the settings add the settings for hackint0sh)
- thirdly did u install any extra kexts / edit the plist..

Lastly I made 4 of these same identical rigs, accept gt640 and 650 video cards due to prices comming down, non of my friends have ever had these freezing issues, I even used a different board in the past it had a z68 chipset no isses

What hard drive are u using? and make sure ur PSU is working properly, the power supply

Here are my settings?
take a look

Lastly this may sound like a wierd idea try it?
his may sound wired how about using a different hd to run mac osx ie a 16gb usb drive ive loaded osx to it before works fine $5 lol see if it freezes in that u can use superduper to either clone urs or install fresh

keypox, thats a good question I dont use the front headphone jack I have a cheap logitech speaker set I bought for $10 here is a picture of it and it has a audio jack I use these and never had any issues you can even turn power off and the jack still works fine I just tested today just for you lol
