Loud fan noise in Windows 8.1

I've been getting really loud fan noise in Windows 8.1 on my MacBook Air 13" 2012, sometimes even in idle...no matter what I'm doing, from time to time it just starts to spin like crazy, and when i check Task Manager, CPU usage is usually singe digit number, just a few %... but still fan is spinning like crazy...nothing like that ever happened to me in OS X on this laptop...any thoughts? Similar experiences?

I have this same problem on my late-2011 15" MBP. I just installed Windows 8.1 on bootcamp yesterday and immediately started noticing the increase levels of heat and fan as compared to my previously installed Windows 7. I did a clean install if anyone's wondering. I think it might have something to do with the drivers? Does anyone have a solution?

Update: I downloaded and installed the latest AMD drivers. Doesn't seem to help.
