Mac Pro 2008 w El capitan

Mac Pro 2008 w El capitan CANNOT shut down

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me. I am @ a lost........

I have a Mac Pro 2008, ran beautifully n flawlessly w Yosemite.

I recently upgraded to El Capitan (10.11.1). Since the upgrade, I CANNOT shut down. Everytimes I shut down, it would restarts. So basically i cannot shut down at all unless I press the power button.........while it's trying to restart.

I scoured the internet but could not but could not find any solutions.

if anyone can help, i'd greatly appreciate it.

I had same shutdown issue and it wound up being a bad HDD i had installed removed and shutdown fine! May try removing all but essential hardware and see if you can shutdown properly then? If so start reinstalling components one at a time shutdown and restart each time to try and find the culprit!!! Just a thought from my own experience!!! Good Luck!!!

I did remove all my components and pcie cards but still have the issue.

got so fed up after trying so many things and for may days, so i went back to yosemite. luckily i backed up yosemite before i messed with upgrading.
