Hi, all - I successfully turned my Dell Inspiron 5520 into a Hackintosh recently, so now I'm feeling adventurous: my next project is to convert my Mac Pro 1.1 to 64 bit and run Mavericks on it.

Of course my first move is to replace the stock x1900 xt video card, but I don't know which specific PC cards can be installed to run in a Mac Pro. I don't need to save the world or anything, I just need a card that will let me run Mavericks decently.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance...

asus silent 8400 gs old style heat sink
galaxy gt 430
evga gt 630

I have 3 pros these do work.
One Mac Pro 1,1 runs Mavericks.

I'm using an ati HD 5770 that I got from apple store, it doesn't have hdmi just dvi and 2x apple display port type ports or mini display port can't remember... In my Mac Pro 1.1

6mb ram and running mavericks fine...

and latest Logic too..

I've had both a 760 GTX and a 970 GTX in the Mac Pro 1,1 with no issues. Make sure to purchase the mini 6-pin to 6-pin cables to power the card properly. I avoided ATI cards as they needed an 8-pin as well as a 6-pin cable, though I have heard reports of using a 6-pin to 8-pin adapter with some success.
