I´m from Argentina, and I would like to know if to built a Hacintosh is legal, from the point of view of using the Apple OS in a hardware that it is not from Apple.?

This has been discussed again and again - just google search for the 2 main words in your post title. If you want you can read the many, many many pages of comments and opinions on it but it all boils down to: it depends on the country and the laws in effect there, whether you can tie software to hardware or not and whether Apple's EULA is legal in a particuler country. Apple is not likely to come after you where you are anyway, but if worried about it, ask local legal professional for opinion.

Don't want to hijack thread, but also feel its not necessary to start a new one. I want to ask everyone more specifically on how tonymac builds work in particular to multiple builds. I have a working yosemite build and have been thinking of doing another build. Do we need to buy another ML/SL/L dvd and redo all the updates for each individual machine. I feel like I have read posts where users used their apple store account to DL a new OS to install on another machine. For example I have a working yosemite recovery usb right now after updating from mavericks to yosemite. If i build another machine and use that same recovery how would each hackintosh be licensed under the same dvd?
I have searched the forums and dont see a clear answer, perhaps the most informative within tonymacs rules makes it clear iboot and the tools used here make sure these builds are not hacked OS'es which would be piracy. These are legally purchased OS'es that have been installed on hacked MB(bootloaders) so to speak.....hmmmm......

Once you have legally obtained your copy of Yosemite you can install it on up to
three of your computers. So just use your Yosemite Unibeast USB to install on your next build.

For OS X there is no product key assigned to each copy of the OS. It's not like buying a license
key for Windows where you can only install it on one PC.

Technically no, but! I don't think apple even cares otherwise this site would be history by now

if you obtain a copy via app store or from apple then you'll be fine also theres no law in the UK that says you can't do it and as long as your doing it for yourself only yourself then theres nothing that can be done tbh and how i know this is because I've asked a professional about this such as a lawyer and he says there is no law that says you cannot do it and pretty much its not down to the police its down to trading standards here in the UK and they aint even bother you'll be fine as long as your doing it for yourself

Snow Leopard DVD package was one computer install unless you bought the Snow Leopard Family Package which allowed for up to 5 computers per household. With Lion, Apple did away with the one computer per purchase, but it still has to be a per household per OS X purchase. (You'll have to look at the EULA to see what the limit is for each post Snow Leopard OS X.)

In the US, the EULA evokes the US copyright laws. IIRC, the copyright laws are "prosecuted" in a lawsuit brought by the holder of the copyright against the copyright violator in US Federal Court. The penalties are "cease and desist" and/or a liability (payment) based upon the originator's suit. Apple & Samsung recent patient suits are similar in conduct.

Consequently, unless Apple wants to sue you, which is highly unlikely, you won't go to jail if you lose the case.

but if its for your own use no one else then it should be fine i guess but if your making profit then yeah they will come down on you like a ton of bricks I've had a hackintosh since 2010 and no problems i have 2 hacks one for video editing and the other for general use then it should be fine right?

Totally, they don't even care, it's pretty obvious at this point, they know they can still profit from us so this is why they haven't bothered closing these sites down, think about it, We use OS X to purchase media, so in a way apple still profits at the end of the day so we're all happy.

most people that uses OSX have apples products suchs as iPhones iPads iPods MacBooks etc i have 2 hacks with a iPhone and iPad and a macbook and i bought them from apple so yeah apple gets profit even tho you use a hackintosh so id say that apple doesn't care as long as you have there products also along with a apple keyboard and mouse etc
