Hello *,

my colleague has successfully built his own Desktop Hackintosh and he totally got me into it. I would love to have one two but I currently can only afford a T61.
I got his Unibeast USB Stick and tried it out on my Lenovo T61 7659-AB7 which has the following specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 7300 2 GHz
2 GB RAM
Intel X3100 (GMA 965) Graphics
Intel Wireless 11a/b/g (I know, it won't work with Lion)
AD1981HD HD Audio

Lion installation went smoothly off the stick following the normal installation procedure. I used the disk utility to delete the old partition and created a new one with GUID instead of MBR and it took 20 minutes to install Lion. After the initial installation I still booted from the Unibeast stick and added the boot argument "graphicsenabler=no" and Lion bootet and I logged in without any trouble.

I found a Kext Package that fitted for my T61 and added a kext for the Trackpoint support. I downloaded Kext Wizard from here and installed all kexts from this package and got the following stuff to work right away:

Keyboard
Trackpint
Graphics (High resolution !!! => 1440 x 900, 32bit)
Audio
Microphone
Gigabit Ethernet

What did not work:
Bluetooth (of course :)
WLAN (Intel does not work. I bought an Edimax Nano USB Adapter :)
Battery-Display
Sleep (Did not try - not important to me)

The installation of the X3100 kexts need the following boot arguments that I always added manually at boot time:

graphicsenabler=no
arch=i386

When I tried to boot off the disk but always ended in "kernel panic" - but always successful boot when bootloader comes from USB stick ???

So I used the T61 over the weekend not touching bootloader problem as I was happy that everything else worked fine.

I downloaded Multibeast in version 4.6.1 and installed Easybeast with the result that my graphics won't work any more at all.
I see the Apple logo with the grey background but when it comes to the real stuff the screen becomes black :(

I found a description how to delete kexts in single user mode and I am able to restore the system to a basic 1024x768 resolution when I delete all the graphics kexts (as listed below). But I am not able get back the high graphic resolution to work :( I tried several Kext Packages that I found for the X3100

Is there any chance that I can find out what prevents my graphics driver to work correctly???
Or how I can restore the system to a stage that the graphics driver can be installed again correctly???

I would like to prevent a reinstall as I am so happy an even Facetime works already with my USB webcam.
And even with the reinstallation I face the issue again when I need to install the appropriate boot loader.

Thank you for any attention, response or comment to solve my problem.

Greetings,
t6x1138

Edit:
I deleted/uninstalled the graphic driver kexts following this description:

http://mymacbookmini.wordpress.com/tag/manually-clear-extensions-cache/

After that I installed the attached Combo drivers package vor X3100 and now I have high screen resolution !!!

P.S. I needed to reinstall the graphics package after updating from 10.7.2 to 10.7.4 !!!

Unfortunately I do not have OpenGL accelleration active with these drivers, but I am working on it :)

Hello,

Can you tell me how did you install the OS X.
I have the same version of T61 but no chance.

Boot with Chimera and graphicsenables=no

And I have the message "MAC OS X can't be installed on this device"

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

Mobo: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
Mobo: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Note: When specifying your bootloader, if using Clover legacy, please be sure to specify "Clover legacy"). Specifying "Clover" will be assumed as "Clover UEFI"

Hi giohnny,

I must admit that I had a "Lion" usb stick from a friend to boot an install, hence I did not need to go all the way up from Snow Leopard DVD install. I am sorry that I can not be helpful when starting from Snow Leopard. I also retired my T61 a long while ago and replaced it with a real Macbook as I do professional photo editing.

I wish you good luck for your installation!!!

Cheers
