Hello all,

Thought this might be helpful. God knows Ive searched everywhere for one of these, I compiled it myself using DSDTSE. If anyone has a non Voodoo sound solution for the Integrated Realtek ALC662 let me know. Everything running 100% except Voodoo HDA load after sleep.

No worries. Glad to see you up and running. I will try that sound solution but Im pretty sure I have tried everything. I am using USB audio now and dont have any issues. I was begining to think I was the only one with this dell. Lol

If you don't mind, what version of BIOS is that DSDT for? I was thinking of updating my BIOS from Dell before I take a stab at this usb 3.0 card http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008V3THAC/?tag=tonymacx86-21. I was wondering if that DSDT would still hold up after the BIOS update (guess I should have thought of that before my hackintosh install!)

*Also I read somewhere that 8GB's of RAM is possible after the BIOS update....

This DSDT was Compiled while I was running Revision 1.3.0. I am not aware of any newer Bios updates than this. As far as the Ram is concerned I have gotten conflicting reports. I don't believe that the dell version of this motherboard supports more than 4 gigs. Let me know if I am wrong.LOL

Thanks for your reply. Just in case anyone else happens upon this thread I used your DSDT on my Dell Vostro 220mt running 1.2.0 BIOS and, as mentioned previously, it worked perfectly. I have also read the various reports, and I want to trust the positive ones. I going to order matching 4GB ram sticks in a week or so and see what happens. I have read that the ram upgrade has been accepted on a Vostro 220 without the BIOS update to 1.3.0. I'll update you on my progress.

I'd be interested in your thoughts in regard to flashing the BIOS, does that mean that I would have to redo the whole hackintosh setup after it's complete? I have found that I can do it without the whole Windows instal (from a DOS script). I've taken that to mean that I can keep my current 10.8.2 install, but I can't find anything that says so one way or the other?

Thanks again for all your effort.

I flashed my BIOS using freeDOS on a usb stick and am now on 1.3.0 (from Dell). I also installed 2x4GB's of ram last night on my Vostro 220mt. It took a few tries to boot but I finally got it. This thing flies now!

Awesome... I have not tried to install 8gb of ram. I will know.LOL. Would you mind telling me what brand and where you obtained the ram from to ensure exactly the same install. I am sorry I didnt get back to you as far as the Bios, But as you already figured out.. As long as your setting are set properly it will not affect your OS install. Now as far as it took a couple times trying to boot what problem did you run into and did you have to make any changes for it to boot properly? Also about your audi fix. Could you elaborate on exactly what you did. I.E did you remove the original Apple HDA Kext..ETC.... Thanks. It is awesome to have someone else with the same obscure rig as me.LOL. By the way updated to 10.8.3 through Combo install last night. All is well. Thanks again.

No worries. Thanks for the link. I will try to order in the next couple weeks. Money is tight at the moment. LOL. I still can't get that sound solution to work for me. I think it has something to do with my Nvidia card. I keep getting all these sound assertion errors.... Ughhh. I guess I will stay with my USB audio for now. Other wise everything is working well. Thanks again.
