I looking to get a fully working DSDT for the Asus P8Z68-V LX moherboard. Anyone got one already by any chance?

There is one on osx86. com, here: http://www.osx86.net/view/2184-asus____p8z68v-lx___dsdt.html

Not tried it yet but one of the comments say it's just the extraction without fixes.

If there is nothing, is there any jargon-free, layman's tutorial on how to 'fix' the DSDT or even better, a step-by-step tutorial anywhere?

Quick dual booting question

I have 2 hard drives in my machine. A 500GB I'm planning to install OSX on and a 640GB I'm planning to install Windows on.

What's the best installation approach for dual booting?

Is it simply:

1) install Lion on 500GB drive with MultiBeast and tweak til it works.
2) install Windows on 640GB and update etc
3) in BIOS put the 500GB as the first boot drive

Will this give me the Chameleon/Chimera/Bootloader popup on boot to choose OS?

ive merged two of your threads together.
it is easier to have one single thread rather than multiple threads

for the dsdt, look in my sig for an easy guide on making a dsdt for your board.

for the dual booting, yes that is how you would do it

I'm aware of your tutorial. Previously used it for an older motherboard and it was super good and easy to use!

However, the Asus P8Z68-V LX isn't on the patch list over at Maldon's site!?

So far, I used a UniBeast install method and install went perfectly smoothly. Booted in using USB stick first time. Updated using combo update to 10.7.2.

Now, I can boot using UniBeast into the install of 10.7.2 but want to know where to go from here as I currently just have a clean and non-modded 10.7.2?! Any advice? A DSDT to fix all issues would be amazing!

Anyone able to help?

I'm currently going round and round here, mainly due to not having the in-depth DSDT knowledge required I think, so any help would be hugely appreciated!

Hardware is:

Asus P8Z68-V LX Motherboard
Intel Core i5 2500K
16GB DDR3 RAM
XFX Radeon 6870

Currently at clean 10.7.2 install, booting in using UniBeast and desperately needing help on where to go next! :banghead:

Hi Bunford,
Just seen your message. I've got the same motherboard and had it working more or less fine using the onboard HD3000 graphics for the past week or so until I screwed it all up last night! I didn't have the USB 3 working or the sleep capability and I hadn't tried including the kexts etc. to allow overclocking/turbo mode but everything else was fine. I had lion 10.7.2 installed and broke it trying to get on icloud.

I just used multibeast and got the audio working from the link I posted in the thread here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=45710

I'm guessing it's your graphics that are causing your issues as the motherboard should work fine. I didn't use the DSDT file you linked to (just multibeast and the individual kext files in the link above.)

Good luck with it all,

Gareth

Forgot to add, I've got the i5 2500k installed too and 8GB RAM but removed 4GB ram until I had completed everything. Don't know if this is still necessary for installing Lion though (I believe it was for Snow Leopard).

I'm dual booting with windows 7 64 bit using the chameleon boot loader to select the partition (on a different drive) on which I had previously installed windows 7 before installing the hard drive on to which I installed Lion.

Do you know what option specifically you selected in MultiBeast?
