Howdy there,

I set up a bootable usb drive through Unibeast with Laptop compatibility activated and can't get past the installation boot screen, with a stop sign after a few seconds above the apple logo. What am I doing wrong?

The laptop I'm trying to install Mavericks on is an ASUS F55C-SX048H with the following specs:

Intel Core i3-2328M 2x 2,2 GHz
Intel HD Grafik 3000
4096 MB DDR3
500 GB 5.400 U/Min
WLAN 802.11 b/g/n
Gbit-LAN
HDMI VGA
1x USB 3.0
1x USB 2.0
DVD-Drive (DL-DVD±R/RW)

I've seen people managed to activate the console / boot screen during the installation, to see where the setup up comes to a stop / cause of the problem. How can I do that?

Your support is greatly appreciated :)

Mike

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Done, but I wasn't sure about a few things, like the bootloader, but since I'm using Unibeast, it must be Chimera right?

And what the specific build name of the BIOS is.

Here are some pictures from the BIOS settings and CPU-Z

Not done. Please add all six (6) details to your profile (because you have only one computer, it is better to have it in your profile vs. signature).

Your system is mixed (HD3000 on 7-series). You should read the guide carefully: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...-booting-os-x-installer-laptops-unibeast.html

Use Clover if your system is UEFI capable: http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-...oting-os-x-installer-laptops-clover-uefi.html

Do you mean the build signature?

Slightly. But still missing: bootloader, chipset, and screen resolution.

done, don't know what you mean by bootloader though?
