hi this is a feeler. I have an Acer 1830t that i have fully running Mavericks. I am wanting to know if anyone out there is interested in this model. If so ill do a write up on how it was accomplished. its a slightly older laptop but its an 11.6" so its small and light like a mac book air which is why i chose it. It just so happens to be perfect for a hackintosh. Just dont want to do a whole DIY essentially if no one is interested in this laptop.

Let me know thanks

And now yosemite is already out. So please post your guide. I have 1830t with core i3 380UM, and can't even boot to the installer. It reboots instantly right before the kexts load. Please help

*Before* the kexts load in verbose "-v -f"?

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

thanks for responding

yup.. The kext wont even load and my system instantly reboots
The bootloader only shows my processor and after few secs, it reboots without showing kexts list

You should post a photo of the screen just before it reboots.

Use a camera to capture video so you can go frame-by-frame.

Now i'm using latest unibeast with the latest chimera. the kexts are load, but now right after that my system reboots. not a kernel panic, just reboot

OK. That is different than what you wrote before (reboot after kexts load vs. reboot before), and is 100% expected for your system.

You need to patch the kernel: http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...-locked-msrs-hp-envy-15-j063cl-i7-4700mq.html

Or you can use Clover, which has my patch built-in to the KernelPm option.

For using Clover, I suggest you read here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-proboo...-install-yosemite-hp-laptops-clover-uefi.html. Filter appropriately as some information is HP ProBook specific (omit HPFanReset.efi, most of the stuff in the ProBook Installer, for example).
