Hi. I have chance to buy empty housusing for iMac 27(from 2010), for very cheap. I'm wondering, if it's possible, to convert original iMac display wires to any format(like hdmi or another), and will it work? And if not, is there any display that fit into 27' iMac?

Hi kiwiszon,
you will need a LCD controller board with an input port (HDMI, DVI, ...) of your choice and a LVDS output... Have a look on ebay. It might be hard to find one supporting such a high resolution (2560x1440px).

Then you need to identify the panel used in your iMac in order to find the pinouts.

This will be a hard job but it's basically possible.

It should be easier to mount a thin 27 inch 16:9 monitor into the iMac case and use its components, such as the controller and the power unit.

Best regards,
Jascha

Thanks a lot, for your reply. And, maybe you know what 27' display will fit into imac case? I know that i'll have to take display case of, but i don't want to buy display, that won't work ;D

I installed the monitor Eizo EV-2736 into the case late 2009 iMac 27. (The installation is not yet finished.)
First pic - Original iMac LCD panel (LG LM270WQ1), Last pic - NEW EIZO LCD panel (Samsung LTM270DL02).
The new panel is thinner and smaller in height. The width of the panels is the same.

Then I plan to install inside Intel NUC D54250WYK.

This is a question for me?

Yes ;) I forgot to quote you. I'm glad to see your response so quick. Do you have some photos of inside this imac with nuc installed?

I do not speak English and I use Google translation. So sorry for the wrong language.

Space inside the case very much. there you can place himself NUC, and its power supply. You can leave a CD drive and a hard disk of 3.5 inches.
At the same time will have a lot of space.

NUC well can be placed over the left fan, gluing it a good double sided tape.

NUC in the body, I did not install, because after all measurements decided to install the motherboard into the mini-itx with a separate graphics card.
While I chose and bought Flex ATX power supply fsp-europe.com/professional/fsp250_50gub_85plus.php

The photo will do tomorrow.

Great Work!!
I hope some day I can do the same!
I do study engineering though.. And the other day I watched a youtube vid which a teen assemble a mechanical keyboard from scratch... After I watched it, I found it kind of easy... Similar to sth I did in school.....Then I realise now all the mechanical keyboard is kind of overpriced...>< I dun know whether is true or not..:roll2::roll2::roll2::roll2:

What languages you speak? Can you post exactly the same configuration of your processor and other?

I speak Russian.
Now I have hakintosh NUC D54250WYK.

I plan to buy a motherboard Z97I-PLUS, when she will be recommended for purchase.

So I guess there are problems with the cooling system, due to the limited thickness of place I plan to use the processor Broadwell with much less heat, which will soon replace the Hashwell.

The maximum thickness of the board to the processor must be less than 45mm.

While I bought a power supply, and two PCIe extender and miniPCIe

Below are the photos. In any of the examples of a distance from the NUC to rear LCD EIZO more 1mm.
In the case of accommodation in the center (at the last photo), you can use the original hard drive fan.
