Hey Everyone!

I set this HTPC hackintosh up a while back. It works great, currently running Mavericks.

Full Sleep working, 1080p via dvi/vga, and Full Dolby Digital & DTS via optical out to my receiver & XBMC (also full 7.2 surround sound, second sub is a yamaha small one, hidden behind the couch). Also works great with my Harmony remote. I pre-wired the room with two USB ports, One near the entryway, and one behind the couch that are plugged into the rear usb ports of the Hackintosh ( i ordered the 50 ft USB cables from ebay, came from china).

Also, I have a surveillance system which this Hackintosh can easily view and control.

These are my parts, some i had around, and some i purchased, I am late on this post, as i've had this built for a while, but only now finished the room (crown mouldings, baseboards, painting etc).

That's awesome! I have something somewhat similar in concept (sans surveillance stuff).

Right now I only have the HTPC itself and the specs are as follow:

Case and 400W PSU: A random crappy case that I got from my neighbor

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k 3.3 GHz (running at stock)

GPU: ASUS NVidia GT 210 1 GB (kind of low end, sure... but it's an HTPC.. it doesn't need much)

RAM: 8GB of G.SKill RipJaw

Mobo: MSI P67 C43-b3

Storage: I have random drives I got from friends and ones that I've repurposed, ranging from 320 GB all the way up to 1TB.

OS: Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks

I run this HTPC Hackintosh as my MythTV backend system coupled with a Silicon Dust HDHomeRun Prime (along with a cable card and cable TV of course). I've used MythTV with OTA antennae before, but I kept getting annoying reception reflections/interference, so I decided to pay for cable for a direct line for all my recordings. To learn more about MythTV head on over to http://www.mythtv.org, and once you're ready to commit check out the binary-based MacPorts installer here: https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MythTV_on_Mac_OS_X. The great thing about MythTV is that since it's network-based, any computer/device on your network can access the content, be it recorded or live. I really like that.

Once I have the money and the right space to use I want to get an HDTV to output to.

I'd post pics, but it's really just the computer itself as this point, but once I do make some sort of setup I'll post some. Cheers!
