I have a HP 4530s with two hard drives. Windows 8 is loaded on the main HDD and Mac OS is loaded in the extended bay’s HDD that replaced the optical drive. I have set the extended bay drive as the default boot. Win 8 and Mac OS works just fine in their respective HDD.

After selecting “Windows NTFS” in Chimera, there is an error message as seen attached. Is there any way to work around this? I do not have an external optical drive nor a Windows installation disc to attempt the steps listed.

Does your Windows install have the two-partition setup (small System Reserved boot partition)?

Edit: actually I see it in the picture.

Tell Chimera to boot 'System Reserved'...

You select System Reserved to boot windows mate, I found that out after 4 wipes and reinstall's ha ha ha ha

Hi,

When i select System reserved I can indeed boot my windows partition, however, when i try to shut it down it just goes back to the login page. The only way to shut it down is to hold the power button on my case.

Is there a setting in the bios I can change or something else to be able to shut it down normally ?

Thanks

If that is the case... (eg. choosing Windows Shutdown, moves you to the Windows login screen), you should re-install Windows.
