Good afternoon all ,
I have a quick question about networking on the HP elitebook 8470p. Maybe some other have had this issue before. .
My question is --- is it possible to swap en0 with en1 ? Since I have installed my wifi card, it has taken over the position of en0 . The Wired LAN connection used to be en0- itunes and others worked ok.

How can I make the Wired LAN en0 and the WiFi en1 ?

Many thanks for any information on this little issue.

Try resetting the network interfaces. To do that, go into SysPrefs->Network and remove all interfaces, Apply, then remove /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist. Reboot, then add all your network interfaces back, starting with Ethernet.

Hi RehabMan,
Many thanks for your reply. . . I have followed your instructions carfully... Unfortuneately now the wired Ethernet no longer shows up in the network interfaces list. When I try to add a new network interface the only available are Wi-Fi and FireWire. (Along with the usual VPN, PPPoe and 6 to 4 which have always been there).
interestingly , If i go to terminal and use ifconfig the wired ethernet conection is no longer present. . Only the Wi-Fi , firewire and the loopback interfaces are present. . .
Other things I have checked are that the AppleIntelE1000e.kext is present but is not listed under 'loaded' in Kext wizard.
Ethernet Built in is ticked in the org.Chameleon.Boot when checked with Chameleon Wizard. And 'yes' is present for 'ethernet built in' , in /extra/org.Chameleon.Boot.plist.
Any thoughts on where to start ?
Many thanks.

Post ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

Note: Pretty sure current driver used by PBI is IntelMausiEthernet.kext, not AppleIntelE1000e.kext.
