HP EliteBook 8470P WWAN Functionality with 10.8

Good afternoon all,
I wanted to post a new thread about Mobile Broadband within the Elitebook / probook domain. There are many post about which WIFI card to use with this model- but not too much information with regard to the WWAN setup. I wanted to start some discussion about this topic..

• Has anyone been able to get the WWAN working on the Elitebook or Probook models?
• My wirless card is recognised by the BIOS and is turned on
• Nothing is listed under WWAN or PCI for system information.
• In addition DCPI manager does not list any WWAN device under PCI list - which I thought odd as it is present in the BIOS settings.

If anyone has any ideas or could shed any light on this subject please drop your thoughts here.

I've managed to setup the card to be recognized as WWAN interface in "System Information". The problem is that I cannot create Network adapter service because it is not present in the list of adapters. I have Network strength indicator on the top bar (greyed out), which shows SIM PIN Locked, but the SIM card is not PIN locked.. I suspect that the problem is proper initialization string that should be sent to the card defined in WWAN.ccl.. So any (any, any..) information or help will be highly appreciated
