Hi everyone,

I have Mountain Lion installed on a HP Probook 4730S and it was running fine. But early last week the CPU somehow gave up and needed to be replaced. The original Core i3 was replaced with a Core i7.

Now Mountain Lion will not boot but results in a kernel panic. P-State error 18.

Can I set a bootflag in Chameleon to boot Mountain Lion and update the DSDT?

Or must Mountain Lion be newly installed.

Try to boot with "DSDT=null -f"

If you have a bootable USB then try to boot with that. As your Processor got replaced, now you may have to use new SSDT.

Tried that, but boot stops at Apple symbol and spinning wheel stopped.

Boot with flag -v and check where it is getting stuck in the booting process.

Also try to attach a clear photo of the entire frozen screen that may help the forum members to provide solution for issue.

Best I can get with my crappy Samsung
