I'm looking for recommendations on which installation method to use for my recently obtained HP ProBook 6470B.
I would like to give Yosemite a try, but Mavericks would be fine too.
Thanks

Hi,

tried like you did, corrected boot... but nothing works except wifi (usb dongle with driver)

What did you select in multibeast?

my boot is sometimes long, grey screen gets torn, flickers, or boots fast with lower resolution

Also if I try to use HP post install 6.1, it results in an endless boot screen..

Any ideas?

Read post #2, Mavericks/ML/Lion (10.7.5 only).

For Yosemite, see here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-proboo...-install-yosemite-hp-laptops-clover-uefi.html

So it has to be with Clover UEFI?
I understood that 10.10 can be installed with uni & multibeast as well

Ok, thanks, will try..

There is an untested beta of the ProBook Installer that could, in theory, be used for a non-Clover install of Yosemite. Key words: "untested" and "in theory".

The recommended method is using Clover.

Multibeast is never used with the supported ProBook/EliteBook series.

Did as described. Everything worked except audio... after multiple attempts to enable it, i gave up and just updated OS X with the latest update - now it works!

One (off topic, sorry) question:

Installed 10.10 on 2nd internal HDD. My 1st HDD has 2 partitions, one became unusable now, showing boot1 error when I try to run it. Any chance to make it available somehow?

Regards,

V

You should have a bootloader only one device, usually on the HDD that is always present.

It used to work perfectly with 10.8. No any conflicts, but now from 4 boot options enabled in BIOS, only Boot Upgrade BAY EFI starts 10.10, and all other options redirect me to my 1st internal drive.

Is it possible that something went wrong while changing BIOS settings for 10.10 install?
Can I reenable WakeOnLan and 1394 now?
And is it possible to set boot from all available partitions (OS plus Win7) within Clover?

regards

BIOS boots to *devices* not *partitions*.

What are you trying to do?
