Probook 450 G1 Panel Upgrade (1080p)

Hey,
Is it possible to upgrade the panel to 1080p?

EDIT:

450 G1 panel: AUO B156XW04 V6

Hey,
Is it possible to upgrade the panel to 1080p?

As far as I know, no one has attempted it.

Someone would need to take their laptop apart to find out more information about the physical characteristics of the panel and cable. It would also be a good idea to compare part# of the cable for the 470 G1 and 450 G1. Physical inspection of a 470 G1 cable may be necessary.

With that additional information, you then may be able to search for a compatible 1080p panel and cable.

The partnumber of my panel is 724940-001.
It has a 40 pin flat connector bottom on the right side.

Isn't possible to search for the same specification?

Compare to details for hardware in 470 G1.

It's only compatible to ProBook 450, 450 G0, 450 G1, 455, 455 G1 :(

Well, yes... (I assume 'it' refers to the cable).

Your goal, though, is to replace the screen with a 1080p, which will need a dual-link cable... most likely the same cable the 470 G1 uses.

Oh my fault.. now I understand.
My laptop has a single-link cable and I need a dual-link.

Yes, and a compatible screen that is 1080p... Maybe the same one used on the 4530s/4540s can be used, maybe not.

I will buy the cable of the 470 G1 and then we will see

I had been thinking about doing this since I bought my 450 g1, but haven't seen any spares around for the duallink cable.

Please update with the progress! Please let me know if I can help with anything (I am ready to dissasemble my 450g1, but don't have any 470's around to get any insight on the needed pieces).

Good luck!
