HP Probook Installer Yosemite without Clover

I would really like to know if there is a Probook installer for Yosemite that does not use UEFI Clover. I am booting with Chameleon and almost everything works except: battery indicator, internal sound, the display defaults to dim on start up, but can be brightened in system preferences. I have used Probook installer for Mavericks to achieve this much in Yosemite. I am doing this on the HP Probook 4530s with core i5 2450m, 8GB of ram, and internal graphics. Any type of response in regard to this is welcome. I have tried executing the UEFI Clover tutorial to no avail. It simply will not boot. In bios I have UEFI enabled and everything else looks good. Incidentally, their is a rather stern admonishment regarding enabling UEFI booting on this particular Probook. 4530s. Thanks in advance!

I already have Yosemite installed without Clover. Are you saying the only way to have everything working properly in Yosemite on a Probook 4530s is to reinstall using the Clover method? Am I correct in saying the Clover Probook Installer will not work with my non-Clover install? I tried the tutorial you linked me to. Unable to reach the installer. Tried multiple times in fact. If this is the only way to make all things work in Yosemite, then I suppose I have no choice but to keep trying this method. I am booting both Yosemite and Mavericks in Legacy mode. Little apprehensive to the UEFI method considering the model of Probook I have. As stated earlier, when apply the change to UEFI in bios, there is a prompt stating that this type of booting is not recommended or something to that effect. At any rate, thanks for the quick response. If you would let me know if there is a way to rectify the current legacy Yosemite I have installed, I would greatly appreciate it. Once again, it is very usable, but not perfect like Mavericks. Battery indicator and internal sound are really the only issues I have with Yosemite. I can use Bluetooth or USB speakers, but this is all a matter of doing the best I can, without the Clover UEFI method. By the way, just want to say Thanks for providing these tutorials. You guys are awesome!

I'm saying that no one here is supporting that method because everyone here is using Clover. All the primary people involved (myself, philip_petev, and nguyenmac) are using Clover exclusively. There is no reason to provide two ways to do the same thing. Especially given the fact that Clover is far superior to the other solutions.

The ProBook Installer - Clover Edition is only for using Clover. It uses techniques and features exclusive to Clover that are not easily translated to a Chimera/Chameleon bootloader scenario.

You should really give the Clover guide a try. Follow it carefully.

You'll probably be happy you did. Otherwise, stick with Mavericks.

Thanks man. The fact that 99.9 percent of my inferior method of installing works, leaves me at a crossroads. Ultimately however, I know myself and will not be happy until every little detail is working properly. I have tried the Clover method more than once, and for some reason it just wont get to the installer. Like they say: try, try, again. I follow these tutorials to the letter, so I have no idea why I am unable to reach the installer using Clover.

You're probably not following the guide correctly (for preparing the USB), or you're using the wrong USB port, bad stick, etc...

You can always post your EFI folder from the USB (for examination by those that know what to look for) if it is not working.

Quick question. Is all this done with 4GB of RAM or does it matter that I am trying with 8GB installed? Me and an IT friend of mine are doing this. He is familiar with Clover, extensions, etc. The Mavericks tutorial was much easier to follow for me, and I did all that by myself successfully. He created 2 separate flash drives for this Clover method. Don't know what he is doing wrong. I tried with partitioning one flash drive and failed. At any rate, we will get it. Has to be something simple we are missing. Formatting the flash drive is child's play. I ran into trouble following the deleting and replacing files etc. I got as far as booting from the EFI>Boot>BOOTx64.efi file, but was unable to reach the installer. With Nate's help, we will prevail. Thanks again.

No idea about what you did wrong without seeing the EFI folder on the USB.
