Hi guys

I am hoping someone here can help me out. I have a 4530s that has been running on mavericks great up until now. One of my friends was trying to install printer software on it and accidentally clicked on the pro book installer and messed up all his settings and there was no longer any sound.

To repair the problem I went to patch a new DSDT from the pro-book installer.

I was following the in the instructions from step 14 here.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook-mavericks/112380-guide-installing-mavericks-hp-probook.html

specifically this instruction :
Note: you must select one option from each of the first three groups to generate a patched DSDT. In addition, you must have no DSDT present in /Extra/dsdt.aml at the time you run this option. If you wish to regenerate a DSDT later, you must remove /Extra/dsdt.aml, reboot, and then run the ProBook Installer using your desired DSDT options.

I moved the DSDT.aml file into my trash folder and then empty’d the trash.

Then when i tried to reboot by restarting the computer i could not get passed the white screen with the apple logo.

Is there anything i can do get this computer to boot?

Thanks for any advice :)

Try to boot using your USB installer.

Also...

Please provide complete details in your profile/signature
(Profile/Settings link in upper right corner of this site)

System: manufacturer/model + bootloader(Clover/Chameleon/Chimera)
CPU: detailed CPU model + motherboard chipset
Graphics: all graphics devices + laptop internal screen resolution

For example, typical Ivy laptop:
System: HP ProBook 4540s (Clover)
CPU: i5-3320m/HM76
Graphics: HD4000, 1366x768

Use CPU-Z on Windows to find CPU (Core iX-xxx) and motherboard chipset (HMxx), and graphics capabilities. For a laptop, these details are important and affect critical installation procedures.

Thanks for your reply RehabMan

This is my system... I'll try put it in into the signature.

System : HP ProBook 4530s
CPU : i7 2860QM quad core
Graphics : Intel HD Graphics 3000 , 1366x768

I tried booting via the USB installer and no joy. It's just doing the same thing and will not get past the white apple screen. Any other ideas ?

Boot verbose. Show quality photo of entire screen where it stops.

I have tried updating signature so it should be working now hopefully.

I have tried connecting to an external hdmi monitor but it does not connect. The monitor just act like there is nothing connected to it. I have also tried to connect to a monitor on previous occasions via hdmi and could never do it. Is there something i'm not doing correctly? Is there any settings that i need to have right to connect to hdmi?

Provide output from 'lspci -nn' in Linux Terminal.

I have nevet used Linux terminal before .... how do i access it?? Do i need to purchase and install linux software?

im sorry this is comletely alien to me :/

Would i be right in thinking that you are talking about the Terminal that is found under utilities in osx? If my computer won't boot then i'm guessing i can use my install usb , click on install and access terminal from there? Am I right in thinking this?

If I do this would you be able to give me the exact command that i need to type into the terminal as i am completely clueless when it comes to this stuff.....

Thanks once again... I feel this problem is close to being resolved :)
