Hi I was following the guide for mavericks on my HP Probook 4540s

http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-proboo...-install-mavericks-clover-bootloader-199.html

I followed everything to the letter except when it said to disable firewire as this laptop doesn't have it. anyways I made it to 5. when I select to load "Boot OS X Install from Install OS X Mavericks" this happened: photo (1).jpg

have no clue as to why or what to do. Someone please help!

Also if it matters, when I turn on the computer with the flashdrive inserted it will go directly to the screen where I choose "Boot OS X Install from Install OS X Mavericks" but I followed the guides info on how to access this

don't know what I am supposed to look at there. The guide is what got me stuck. ???

Make sure you are following the guide exactly. Not sure how you end up with MacBookAir5,2 given your hardware...

Please do not make duplicate posts. Thanks!

my apologies on the duplicate posting. I know I did not disable firewire in the bios as the guide instructed. Could that be the problem? Couldn't even find an option for that in bios but also the probook 4540s doesn't have a firewire port.

should a windows computer be able to read both patricians. I have another computer and it is just picking up the clover side, not the install osx side

I don't think firewire is the problem. Clearly you have the wrong config.plist.

image (1).jpegbased on your advice I checked again and noticed I left the config.plst in the folder I downloaded from. Now things are working properly. Could you tell me how to "use Disk Utility to format your drive as GPT, create a Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) partition and install Mavericks to your formatted partition." in more depth. Also how big should this patrician be. I have a 500gb HDD (465 GB in reality). Thanks for the continued support it is so much appreciated. Clearly I'm a bit new to all this. Here is a pic of where I am at.

should I do this :

b. Highlight your target hard drive for the Mavericks installation in left column.
c. Click Partition tab
d. Click Current and choose 1 Partition
e. Click Options...
f. Choose GUID Partition Method
g. Under Name: type Mavericks (You can rename it later)
h. Under Format: choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
i. Click Apply then Partition
j. Close Disk Utility

Yes, it is a good idea to be familiar with the guide you linked.
