Hi,

I couldn't find a better post to place my question.

I'm willing to buy an HP Probook 4530s i3 2310m, and I would like to know about the compatibility "level" of this laptop with OSX. I already have a Desktop Hackintosh and I know how hard is to find a portable computer which is almost out-of-the-box to install and configure OSX.

Please answer me, because I got a good price on one of these.

Thanks,
FelipeBHZ

The 4530s is well supported. What, specifically, are you concerned about?

No idea what you mean by compatibility "level"...

I wanted to know if following the instructions on the guides posted here, I will be able to install graphics with full quality, audio, battery management, wireless and all the most important things for daily usage and a nice OSX experience?

Thanks

Yes. WiFi requires replacing the WiFi card if yours comes with an incompatible card. Read the guide for compatible cards: http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-proboo...-install-yosemite-hp-laptops-clover-uefi.html

The 4540s (with Ivy CPU) is a bit better, but the 4530s is quite good.

Great! Thanks for your time. I already checked compatible wifi cards and I can easily find one here at my city.

I'll be back soon. Haha Hopefully with good news about my laptop hackintosh. :)

So this is me again. Now from my new ProBook 4530s with Yosemite and almost everything working.

Just a few questions:

- Is it the best option to solve "Cannot verify your device..." on App Store just delete all connections and the Network plist?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ YES, it is! Just tried and worked. Fast and easy.

- Does have a fix for the battery life on 4530s? My battery does not last more than 1 hour or so. And I'm pretty sure the battery is OK.

- My DVD-ROM Drive couldn't be find on OSX. Do you have any idea why?

Thank you!

Download patchmatic: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-maciasl-patchmatic/downloads/RehabMan-patchmatic-2015-0107.zip
Extract the 'patchmatic' binary from the ZIP. Copy it to /usr/bin, such that you have the binary at /usr/bin/patchmatic.

In terminal,
Code:
if [ -d ~/Downloads/RehabMan ]; then rm -R ~/Downloads/RehabMan; fi
mkdir ~/Downloads/RehabMan
cd ~/Downloads/RehabMan
patchmatic -extract

Note: It is easier if you use copy/paste instead of typing the commands manually.

Post contents of Downloads/RehabMan directory (as ZIP).

Also, post ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

And output from:
Code:
kextstat|grep -y acpiplat
kextstat|grep -y appleintelcpu

Also, post EFI/Clover folder.

Hi @RehabMan,
thanks for your answer. I attached all files as you asked on the post reply. Waiting for your answer.

Thank you again.
