Does your favorite application need CUDA or OpenCL? The CUDA apps are well known, but the OpenCL apps are not as well known.

So, here's some of the more popular OpenCL Apps
Adobe PhotoShop CS6
Battlefield 3
Final Cut Pro X
GIMP
Handbrake
LuxMark
Mathematica 8
VLC media player

Can you also post a list of CUDA apps? They aren't as well-known to me, anyway. I'm especially interested in finding an app to convert between video formats that supports CUDA.

Hi ... Stork,
Thank you for your reminder that Mathematica 8 provides the OpenCL support for high performance computing.
I am one of users who are really interested in GPU computing with OpenCL source definition.

Though alomost 2 years ago I have planned to make out the result of GPU computing in OpenCL source within Mathematica 8 environment, it has still "just in plan" - Too slow.

Let me see someone has already proceeded in this "GPU computing via OpenCL source within Mathematice 8 ( or 9 )" .
Please advice me.

Also Motion 5 and Compressor 4, that info was on Apple FCPX website under GPU requirements (graphics card that supports OpenCL).

Awesome list, I didnt know Adobe Photo Shop was an OpenCL app. Nice! Dont know if Ill ever have the money for it, but still nice to know.

Thanks for the post, sweet!

If your applications require either CUDA or OpenCL, does this mean the GPU requirements for those applications would either be nVidia for CUDA or/versus Radeon for OpenCL?

Ive always been confused about this. I need to buy a GPU for my mobo X79 also going to be using FCPX and am not sure which would work best.

The openclnews.com website doesn't exist. Do you know of a current website that lists OSX applications that use OpenCL? My web searching hasn't produced one. Thanks.
