AMD Radeon HD5450 works OOB in Mountain Lion but without QE/CI. To enable it, install AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext in S/L/E using Kext Wizard. You can download AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext here: AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext.zip then follow this guide:

1. Get your graphic card's device ID and vendor ID
Just open System Information, then go to graphic/monitor.
ATI Vendor ID is 1002
HD5450 Device ID is 0x68el
2. Modify Info.plist file with your device and vendor ID
Open Info.plist with TextEdit
Go to your graphic card section (HD5450 is Cedar, for others wikipedia can help you)
Insert your device and vendor ID under IOPCIMatch:

<key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x68E11002</string>
Save and exit
3. Install the kext
Open Kext Wizard and install your modified AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext in S/L/E
Rebuild cache and repair permissions
Reboot

Now your graphic card is fully working:D

Thank you so much, I solved my problem. :D

Thank you MickyLeg97, works great with my system and Mountain Lion!

MB: G41M-VS3 R2.0
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66 GHz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD Sapphire 5450 with 512MB

My Graphics Card seems to be the same as yours, the ID is 0x68f9 too! Entering

<key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x68f91002</string>

in the Info.plist of the Kext should work.

thank.....

Thanks man, I almost threw away my HD5450. One thing though, my cursor jumps from one position to another.

I get that too. I had dual HD 5450's working in my Optiplex 990 running 10.8.2. I upgraded to 10.8.4, modified my kexts again, and repaired caches--nothing works. Well if I boot in safe mode I can actually get the full 512 MB with four monitors full QE/CI, but then other things don't work. I tried many different combinations of things and now the latest yields me all four screens in this whitish gray color with some blocks.

Could there be any other kexts interfering with this card? I feel like a kext got updated from 10.8.2 to 10.8.4 that might interfere. Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks a lot... I got it working.

I am a newbee and this was my first hackintosh built...
Just change one value and get your QE/CI working.

for newbees like me who do not know where to change the value and where info.plist is located please check this video

And thanks a lot MickyLeg97

Hi

After opening the Info.plist file I noticed that there are several instances of "IOPCIMatch". Do you have to insert your device and vendor ID in all instances of "IOPCIMatch" or just the first one? Do you just add your device and Vendor ID to the existing list or do you replace the list?

Thanks
