Anyone get this working yet. The battle to try and male this work continues. It works fine in Windows 8.1 and Tech10. I can't get the card to output it in OS X though?

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: <- driving me nuts. Ill settle with 50hz

It's possible you're using HDMI 1.4 which doesn't support 4K at 60Hz, only HDMI 2.0 & up does. Try using Display Port if it's an option.

Sadly thats not the case. My tv only has hdmi 2.0
I wouldent be against getting a dedicated monitor but in Windows this display looks incredible. Gaming in 4k is awesome as well. I am ready to give up and just go but one. Untill apple supports 60hz at 4k over hdmi 2.0 i think im screwed..... unless somebody here knows the trick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a Hackintosh expert, but A/V I know. You didn't explain the issue, is there no image at that setting over HDMI, or a 30hz 4K signal? Anyway, a couple of thoughts:

1. Make sure you're using a quality High Speed rated HDMI cable.

2. If OS X not supporting HDMI 2.0 is the issue, use the Displayport 1.3 outputs of the GPU and use a DisplayPort to HDMI cable or adapter into the HDMI 2.0 ports of the display. These are a little harder to find nowadays since the group behind HDMI now considers them unsupported.

tried both, no dice. Best I can do is 4k at 30hz.

I seem to have stumbled on something that could help. If you want 4k 60hz over HDMI 2.0 4:4:4 on 10.10.3, here is the recipe that worked for me:

  • GTX 970 (I'm sure 980 would work) with Nvidia web drivers
  • Get a DVI-D to HDMI cable. This is the one I'm using.
  • Install Display Menu
  • Install SwitchResX
  • Create a custom resolution in switchresx of 3840x2160 60Hz
  • Reboot, then use Display Menu to choose the new resolution.

I have no idea why this works, but it does perfectly. I'm using a Samsung Curved 6700 and it's quite amazing. It does not work with a HDMI cable, but the DVI D to HDMI cable seems to be the magic component.

It is, for sure, 60Hz and 4:4:4. I worked with a the Seiki 39" for a while as my monitor and know the painful difference between 30Hz and 60Hz.

Since I don't know why it works I am not sure what to suggest. I saw that same thing from your screenshot when I was using a regular HDMI 2.0 cable. By chance I tried the DVI-D to HDMI cable and it worked. Does 30hz work with the DVI-D HDMI cable?
