NVIDIA has released their alternate graphics drivers for OS X Yosemite 10.10.1. These are separate from the drivers Apple ships as standard, and should be considered experimental. These drivers have been known to solve OpenCL issues with certain applications, as well as providing better native GPU power management for certain devices.

NOTE: These drivers are currently the only method to get full acceleration for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750, 750Ti, 970, and 980 'Maxwell' graphics cards. There are no current Macs with these cards, so support is absent natively in OS X.

If you've installed the drivers before, you may get a notification to update to the 10.10.1 drivers from the built in System Preferences pane.

In order to flag the alternate drivers on a CustoMac using Chameleon/Chimera, you must install the package and also add the flag manually to the chameleon.org.Boot.plist. If you use Clover, you can toggle back and forth using the standard menubar or system preference pane.

1. Open Finder
2. Navigate to /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist
3. Open in TextEdit
4. Add nvda_drv=1 to Kernel Flags as shown:

Example Usage:

Code:
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>nvda_drv=1</string>

5. Save and reboot

You should be on the new NVIDIA drivers. :)

it work, i mean driver work
but i installed nvidia driver after yosemite upgrade with nvidia driver upgrade from device manager (343.01.01f03 isn't support osx upgrade)

HDMI & DVI still not working :( only VGA works

asus gtx 750 ti

I have a 780ti and it worked just fine. For some reason the nvda_drv=1 kernel flag from org.chameleon.boot.plist got removed during the upgrade to 10.10.1 so I had to add it back. FYI, I installed the combo update and upon restart booted the system with -x and nv_disable=1. Once at the desktop the nVidia driver manager popped up and notified me up the updated driver. Installed the driver and added back the nvda_drv=1 kernel flag and rebooted. Everything back to normal...

No changes from 10.10 drivers for most of Maxwell owners, we are still out of luck with HDMI.
Fermi or Kepler never had such issues, HDMI works on any driver, including Apple OSX drivers.

the 10.10.1 drivers are not working for my 750TI. This update broke my machine :(

I get a "your computer is not compatible with the NVIDIA Web Driver". Any thoughts? I was running fine under 10.10 with the old web drivers.
