Hello, finally starting to get my first Hackintosh to work. Still needs to start with -x every single time but thats a problem for another day.

The big problem is I cant install Logic Pro because it needs graphics. The Hackintosh doesnt seem to know i have the HD 4600 because graphics are really slow and acceleration sucks.

I have googled around and found nothing to help, since the last fix for the 4600 problem kernel is 10.9.5 and does not work (i have tried it)

Is there a fix or do I have to buy a graphics card? Since I followed all the instructions in the buyers guide carefully it is my opinion that this should work.

Please help me!

EDIT
Found this guide and installed these kexts with KextBeast, installation succesful but problem remains. No difference.

Installation was succesful but did not help. According to Logic Pro installer i have 0 vram and no QE/CI.

I think I did the kext installation right. Put the two kext files on desktop and installed.

As with the advice that Stork gave you on this thread:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...00-no-graphics-card-needed-25.html#post916396

I would also recommend that you use an inexpensive GT610 - passively cooled for quietness to get graphics working. Many are having problems with the Desktop HD4600 with the new Z97 boards, I hope that this is resolved by Apple adding proper support soon. 10.10.1 is still a few weeks away.

Strange as I had NO issues getting HD 4600 to work, main helping factor was fresh install using iMac 14.2

But you do think that this will be fixed with 10.10.1? :)

My best thinking answer would be to say. In the balance of all probability - 80% Yes. That allows 20% for Apple to use the Apple factor and find a way of going against the grain/delaying full support.

There are new iMac computers on the market, but these are not using the desktop processors that we use. The new 5k iMac has a configurable option of the i7-4790K processor. This is a desktop processor and should give us the necessary compatibility to run Haswell refresh hardware with HD4600.

Apple typically provides new hardware models with a factory only version of OS X. This is then incorporated into the next Apple OS X incremental update.

For your reference Apple released the Mavericks .1 (10.9.1) incremental update on December 16th last year. We expect this to be similar again this year. However remember that Apple is in charge of this schedule. I do not speak as a representative of Apple.

Okay, thanks for the information! And you dont think theres a chance there will be a kernel or something to fix this? As it was with Mavericks.

That only happens with a bigger change of hardware (different CPU pin configuration) and only for the hard core early adopters to try around July/August before official support arrives in the new OS and Macs from Apple.

FIXED!

The new 10.10.1 Yosemite update did the trick! Thanks for the help
