Hello all, I've been working with my Dell Inspiron 660 for a few months, and I've gotten everything working except the Intel HD 2500 graphics. Everything works relatively well when in safe mode, running off of the Radeon card, but I'd like to enable full QE support. Again, the Radeon board works well, so if it was possible to disable the Intel graphics, I think that would solve the problem. I've tried deleting the Intel HD kext files, and that didn't help, but I'm open to trying again, or any other suggestions. If you need any more information, just ask.

Thanks in advance!

So I've looked around in the BIOS, and I haven't found an option to disable the Intel HD graphics. Both are enabled and work while the computer is running, but only in safe mode. That, of course, means that QE doesn't work. I've tried booting with many other boot flags, but the only way it seems to boot up so far is with -x.

Hi, thanks so much for the reply! I'm very sorry if this is a basic question, but I haven't used framebuffer, er, things, before. I looked around the page you linked, but I didn't find any mention of HD2500, what should I do? How do I specify a framebuffer with no connectors? IGPlatformID= Something? Sorry, I'm rather new to this. (I've only been doing this for a few months) Thank you for your help.

So I tried a few different boot flags, and I ended up with IGPlatformID=01620006 and IGPlatformID=01620007. Attached are some (bad) screenshots of the -v results, along with the boot flag which was used.

I'm already using "GraphicsEnabler=No IGPEnabler=Yes -v" in addition to IGPlatformID=...

Thank you.

Screenshots show an AppleRTC.kext problem, not related to graphics. The solution is native to imac13. If the method doesn't work, don't use it.

Hi again, so I tried using iMac 13,1 and 13,2 system definitions, and both of the boot flags. Neither did anything differently. I can't seem to boot without using -x, which disables QE, as I understand. If this isn't related to graphics, should I move to another section? Thank you.

Either sysdef works the same. You have a graphics problem, HD2500 is useless. One more time; ignore HD2500, nothing plugged in. BIOS/System Agent/Primary/PCIe and boot HD5450/GE=Yes.

Ok. I booted with system definition iMac 13,2 and the boot flags "GraphicsEnabler=Yes IGPEnabler=Yes IGPlatformID=01620006 -v" and I got the attached screenshot.

Sorry it still isn't working. Thank you for your help.
