NVIDIA has released their alternate graphics drivers for OS X Mavericks 10.9.4. These are separate from the drivers Apple ships as standard, and should be considered experimental. These drivers have been known to solve OpenCL issues with certain applications, as well as providing better native GPU power management for certain devices. If you've installed the drivers before, you may get a notification to update to the 10.9.4 drivers from the built in System Preferences pane.

How to Install the Web Drivers:
In order to flag the alternate drivers on a CustoMac using Chameleon/Chimera, you must install the package and also add the flag manually to the chameleon.org.Boot.plist. If you use Clover, you can toggle back and forth using the standard menubar or system preference pane.

1. Open Finder
2. Navigate to /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist
3. Open in TextEdit
4. Add nvda_drv=1 to Kernel Flags as shown:

Example Usage:

Code:
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>nvda_drv=1</string>

5. Save and reboot

You should be on the new NVIDIA drivers. :)

Please note that these drivers should be considered experimental. If you aren't having any issues, do not install- the native OS X drivers work great for most people.

supported NVIDIA GTX750/ti (maxwell)?

Will these provide better performance in World of Warcraft or Diablo III ?

thank you.

Many thanks for the link. I cannot find it.

Do you know something about new CUDA driver for this release ?

What effect does this have on a GTX 680?

waiting to see what this drive Brings to the GTX 780 TI

I'm wondering how it improves overall performance since I'm getting kernel panics from time to time running graphic intense applications like Steam or Lightroom.

Working with a GT 640.. Any takes on this?

Thanks for keeping us up to date :)

Will try them with my GTX 780 6GB if Apple drivers don't do the work on 10.9.4

Just installed 10.9.4 and latest Nvidia Web Drivers and I still have the OpenCl crash on FCPX after launching with GTX 780. Will modifying the drivers work like in previous versions?
