Hello everyone, I decided to make this guide for everyone who has an Asus P8Z77-V LX motherboard. This guide will teach you how to install Mavericks. My Hackintosh specs are as follow:

ASUS P8Z77-V LX
Intel core i5 2500K
GeForce GTX 660Ti
8 GB Ram
1TB HDD

First you need to have a unibeast USB (You can find this in the guides section) http://www.tonymacx86.com/374-unibeast-install-os-x-mavericks-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html. In the Bios settings set optimazed defaults. You don't need to set HDD to AHCI because defaults will do it.

Install Mavericks like it shows you on the guide made by tonymac.

If you have trouble reaching the installer like I did, type PCIRootUID=0.

Once you have OSX intalled reboot with the usb and then we proceed with multibeast.

These pictures are not in order but you can follow them each by each. If you have any question don't hestitate to ask.

Bless you!!

After two days of trying just about everything else, your simple guide got me booting smoothly.

Adding audio and I should be good to go.

Thank you !

The key is Default setup in BIOS flags and perhaps USB key on USB 2.0 port !

HI Guys,

I'm having trouble getting my p8z77-v lx to install Mavericks, followed the instructions here, and the guide and It looks like it's working but I end up with a grey screen and a spinning beach ball each time.
I've added PCIRootUID=0 at boot but still no go, spinning ball is all I get.

Anybody any ideas?

System is:
ASUS P8Z77-V LX BIOS 2303
CPU i5 3330 @3.00GHz
16gb 1333 (PC3 10600)
Nvidia Geforce GT610 1Gb

Thanks
Jay

Have you patched your BIOS, and what version of the BIOS are you on please?

Running:
Asus P8Z77-V LX (As out of box, will need to check re patching bios)
Asus GeForce GT 630 PCIe
Intel Core i5 4440
4 GB Ram
1TB HDD
Mavericks 9.1 (Need to use GraphicsEnabler=Yes to run installer/installed version)

I have followed the above instructions using:
MultiBeast-Mavericks-Edition-6.1.0

After ensuring all settings are as close as I can get (with the 6.1.0) edition, Mavericks no longer boots properly. Gets to Grey screen, apple logo, spinning wheel... and then the monitor looses the signal from the graphics card. If I remove the GT 630 and boot of the internal video card in the Core i5, the O/S hangs indefinitely. Having difficulty getting into verbose mode (through the keyboard cmd-v approach).

Does anybody else have a similar problem with Multibeast 6.1.0 and this motherboard??

UPDATE: I seemed to have stuffed up my Mavericks installation. I formatted the drive to get a clean start, reinstalled using the same software/patches/tools and applied the steps described in a more recent posting above.

Try graphicsenable=no. I am using the same motherboard with a gtx 660 ti. It works fine.

Okay. I updated my ASUS Motherboard Bios from 1404 to 2303: http://www.osx86.net/files/file/3518-new-1085-ml-nvidia-gt-630-native-lastest-driver/. I think the biggest issue I encountered for the GT 630 on this board, was to make sure GraphicsEnabler=Yes during the Mavericks installation, and during each subsequent boot of Mavericks. I've just realised that where -v sets OS X into verbose mode, -x sets OS X into Safe Mode... So I don't need -x . I just needed, GraphicsEnabler=Yes on its own.

I did some 3d Benchmarking.. Looks like the Open GL drivers are fully working for the GT 630.

CUDA drivers doesn't seem to be installed by default, so find the latest drivers here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html.

So far, the Unibeast 3.0.1, MultiBeast-Mavericks-Edition-6.1.0 (using the configurations described at the bottom of this thread and then ticked GraphicsEnabler=Yes), Mavericks 9.1, ASUS P8Z77-V LX and ASUS NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 combination seems to work (without requiring any additional GT630 drivers to be installed). Feel free to add CUDA if you want it.

:)

I have almost exact setup as cadrian007, but I am trying to decide if I should upgrade to 10.9.
I don't care about any of the new features or programs, ( I usually delete most pre-installed programs) but was wondering if your machines ran better, the same or worse since upgrading?
