Not HFS+ drives not detected...please Help!
Hi everybody,
I've installed ML 10.8.3 on a new system based on:
GA-Z77X-UD3H
Intel i7 3770
NVIDIA GTX650 Ti Boost
OCZ Vertex 4 SSD
Seagate Barracuda 2TB
everything seems to work properly, internal drives are properly detected, but I've this weird problem: any kind of drive (USB drives, USB sticks, SD, SDHC, Compact flash) not formatted as HFS+ is not detected and visualized on the desktop and in the finder, but they do are detected in Disk Utility; if I try to format them in every other filesystem that is not HFS+ the system does that but something goes wrong: the coloured wheel starts spinning ad when the process is complete the drive is again not visible in the finder and on the desktop. If I reformat them in HFS+ there are no problems again and the drives are properly detected and usable. Even the DVD drive doesn't appear on the desktop as I put in a CD or DVD, but in Disk Utility does! And I noted that at boot the dock is quickly ready but it takes about 10-15 seconds to show drives on the desktop (with coloured spinning wheel in the while). In disk utility the DVD drive shows the disk title/content but there's no way to read it
any suggestion?
thanks in advance
