Hey guys, I just wanted to see if anyone else is having issues with vmware fusion 5 and osx 10.8.2? For me fusion now just goes not responding after about 20 seconds of a very long delayed start. I have repaired permissions, re-installed the network driver, etc and no go.
It appears that virtual box is also experiencing issues based on the other thread in this forum and the accompanying thread on the vb forum.
see here https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=51331 so maybe something else is in play?

Surprisingly parallels does not seem to be effected and it runs fine on my system under 10.8.2 but I'm more of a vmware guy since I use and manage their datacenter products for my day job but if it's time to move to parallels then so be it.

Anyone else experiencing issues running vmware fusion 5?

Thanks.

did u disable vt-d in bios ?

Yes, the original works if I disable VT-d.
Can you enlighten me ? don't tell me have to disable thunderbolt ! lol

Enlighten about ?
I read here in the forum that 10.8.2. works without changed or rolled back AppleACPIPlatform.kext if VT-d is disabled.
So I disabled VT-d in the BIOS and it worked. A Windows 7 vm in Fusion 5 runs fine for me. No other secret ;-)
User of the 3770K cpu don't need to change the BIOS, because only the cpu's without K support VT-d.

Depends how the BIOS is programmed.
Maybe the VT-d option is hidden if a K cpu is installed or the enable/disable switch is there but has no effect.

You have 2 systems in your signature, one with 3770 one with 3770K, just look in the BIOS of both.

Yes, you are right. Just compare the 2 systems

i3770 = there is an option to enable/disable
i3770K = no option at all.

Thanks, you save me a lot of time and reminded me about the vt-d ...

FYI, I read some where the (K) can be under clock to have the vt-d feature enable ... but i did not try.

The System with CPU i3770K, install 10.8.2 w/o any mod, just click and reboot that all, I am surprise.
